Star Strider has an amazing cover - imo the artwork in Star Strider is better than the writing is - but I don't recall encountering the situation shown on the cover in the gamebook. Try section 325.

Something obscure that I really liked about the puffin covers is that every title had its own font. Is that weird?

Something obscure that I really liked about the puffin covers is that every title had its own font. Is that weird? I wouldn't say it's quite true. A 'font' is an instance of a typeface, in other words a set of lettering designed for repeated use in printing. What Fighting Fantasy books have is a title design, which may be hand-drawn, or which may involve the manipulation of a digital typeface using Photoshop or whatever. I would say it is pretty standard in publishing for books to have different title designs. And although it is common to have some uniformity in title design within a series, it's by no means a rule, especially when you have a uniform series logo prominently displayed.
