(I guess this is too silly to go into the FF section, but if the moderators think it's appropriate, please do feel free to move it... besides this section of the forum is so lonely...)
Hoooray! Today I received my first Puffin edition FF book. What? First? Yeah, I only owned italian edition and wizard (the first run, I don't like the format of the new one)... and now my first Puffin. It feels kinda cool, so I wanted to share the feeling.

It's also the book covered in my most recent blog entry, which went up just a few minutes ago.

Favourite Gamebook Series: Fighting Fantasy

I bought all of them together. Many of them came in different formats (coloured numbers, dragon format,...). There was even a box containing the first three books. Three HOHs (with the blood sacrifice illustration and without). Two MOC (with and without the map). Many first editions. In addition there was a Titan - The Fighting Fantasy World and a small Out Of The Pit in this hoard of books. I guess the person I bought it from went through some trouble assembling them.
Of course there were not ALL formats of every Puffin book. But buying about 100 as a package was alright.
So I only had to get the newest ones starting with EOTD as they came to the market.
Lucky I guess...

Ah this thread has made me reminisce. Star Strider was my first gamebook; not my favourite now, but I remember being amazed by it then, with the feeling that I had been transported into a new, real and almost tangible universe. You can't beat those beautiful puffin books. So many years of enjoyment.
