Similar in vein to the other "Hunts",but this time you search for a quote. The quote must be spoken by a character in a book, not just written in the book.
For example, this imaginary quote can be used: "Greksjsn is gone!" Whereas this can't: Awser tells you that Greksjsn is gone with a hint of panic in his voice.
I'll kick things off with an easy one. "Racknee! You have returned!"

'Alas, you have an inferior mind. Your observational powers are useless. All you are good for is to supply spare parts in our body pool' Actually I'm pretty sure I said this to someone who once commented on a solution I wrote.

Definitely Spectral Stalkers. I think the name of the prankster speaking is Wayland, but don't have the book to hand.

Greenspine, you need a good quiz. You know too much, you're the FBI of FF.

Velkos. But no, it's not her.
Small clue: the first two guesses were closer than the third.

Not the Deep Ones.
Strictly speaking, that guess was no closer than Kieran's.

well 'close' could mean a lot of things: chronology, location, publishing date, theme, featured encounters... i'm just fishing for whatever might make sense using that quote.

The clue relates to the author, correct. The androids from Starship Traveller - I knew it was from the book, wasn't sure who said it though.

YOu have to say who said it and what number it's on. Did you Google the phrase?

YOu have to say who said it and what number it's on. Did you Google the phrase? Why do I have to quote the number? Are you the OP who is setting the rules? Have any posts in this thread quoted a para number thus far?
What I meant was that I initially suspected the quote came from Starship Traveller, then I went through the book and verified my hunch. Greenspine's clue was just enough for me to close the case. Your reply does betray a hint of frustration though, which is understandable, as you were unable to solve the problem even with a couple of hints.
Just for the record, I think if you can find the quote on Google, you probably deserve the point!
I believe it is Para 263.
