Surely 1 is Caverns of the Snow Witch 2 is Zanbar Bone from City of Thieves 3 looks like John Blanche, possibly the Dark Elves from The Seven Serpents? 5 is the sleeping sentry near the entry to the Warlock's domain 6 is definitely Starship Traveller 7 is Island of the Lizard King 10 is Russ Nicholson, must be from a book I haven't read 11 looks like Deathtrap Dungeon, or Trial of Champions? 3 is the Svinns from The Shamutanti Hills.

4 is a Chaos Champion from Trial of Champions. 8 is the Scarachna from Bloodbones. I had a hunch that 12 was from Temple of Terror, looks like some frilly palace thing Leesha might have. Turns out it is from Temple of Terror, still not quite sure what it is though even from the full illustration. A carpet maybe? Aha! A distant memory kept telling me that 4 was from DD; now I get why.

Is 11 from Phantoms Of Fear? It looks Ian Miller-y. It's certainly not from either Deathtrap Dungeon.
I think the others have all been correctly guessed by someone.

Hmm. No, it isn't.
I wonder what it *is*, then...

In other news, I've gained a third star. I'll console myself with that!

Leafing through a discarded copy of the Port Blacksand Evening Standard, you reach find yourself staring at a competition to win an all expenses paid meal for two in the Black Lobster Inn. Despite not wanting the prize, you decide to have a crack at it anyway.
The answer to this Minicode is a nine letter word, in which each of the letters is different and is represented by the numbers one to nine, in ascending order. Three clues are given to the answer:
43296 gives a pirate. 5319 gives a traitor. 8717 gives a liar.
Entries close at midnight on Highday, the 30th of Warming.

Seems to be the right answer? Sadly I have not thought up a question to replace it.

Ah I was way off, for the pirate I had Adbul and the traitor I had Ifor from Masks of Mayhem. Even at that I didn't quite get what you were meant to do with the numbers.

Ha! - Yeah - I suppose the way I worded it, it could be one of two animals the other one being?

The boar from Knights of Doom? I was thinking the other one could be the fox they went after by accident. But now you've got me thinking about Knights of Doom now too.

I don't think I need a pass - I think I can earn this. "Mutinous Heavenly Body" gave it to me, and a quick Google confirmed it.
You are Grus from Rebel Planet.

As promised, then:
This is another Minicode. The answer contains 9 letters. If the letters were represented by the numbers 123456789, then...
756275 would be a human ally, 3212998 would be a hybrid ally, and 27483 would be a human adversary.

How loosely are you using the term 'ally'? Someone who sticks around or someone who gives you a fruit then leaves? 'Human' and 'Ally' are incredibly vague and covers a LOT.

If no-one's got it in a couple of days I'll make it less vague. I actually changed a word within 3 minutes of posting because I thought it was too obvious!
