The question:Who wrote Legend of Zagor?
Is it Ian Livingstone,as credited?
Or is it Keith Martin,as the style suggests?
Or could it be Steve Jackson?*dramatic music plays*(Look at Legend of Zagor thread)
What are your thoughts on this matter which (quotes bloodbeast) never gets old?

If Keith Martin didn't write it, someone really, really, really wanted everyone to think he did. Which seems a bizarre goal.
I remember years ago, Dave Holt on the official forum hinted that Steve Jackson did write FF under a different name. If there is any truth in that though I would suspect Keith P. Phillips over Keith Martin.

I can't think of any other books which look like Jackson might have written them. That said, I'd take any comments by DH with a pinch of salt.

Yeah,Siege is definitely more likely to be written by Steve Jackson than Zagor. But why wouldn't he use his real name?Especially since he had so many fans.

After reading through my post I realised a sort-of error. What I meant to say was that it was more likely for Steve to write Siege than Legend of Zagor. What I did not mean to say was that Siege was more likely to be written by Steve than written by Zagor.

If Steve did write Siege under a pseudonym, it might have been because he wanted to know if his books were appreciated on their own merits or just because of the author's name. A similar motivation was part of the reason why Stephen King wrote several books as Richard Bachman.

Also, if there is any truth to this rumour at all, it can only have been Siege, as there are no other gamebooks by authors who we don't know loads about (except for Keith Martin) after Creature of Havoc.

It's been a long time since I checked it out, but my memory is it does read like it's written by someone who likes mazes and wants you dead...

This is all very interesting! So there is no info on Keith Philips as a living, human being?? I'm interviewing Mac Gascoigne for the magazine at the moment and asked: "You worked with Carl Sargent (who wrote as Keith Martin for Fighting Fantasy) on some Shadowrun and Earthdawn books..." To which Marc replied: "I came to know Carl through his Fighting Fantasy work..."
