So I picked up two of these books from a second-hand bookshop, Aztec Quest & Egyptian Quest (the only two that were published in the physical world). Interesting, lots of puzzles you need to solve to progress. My impression is that they seemed written with the intent that you keep going until you win. Some similarities with his other books, especially the open-exploring format that features in Grailquest.
Quite a find, as I don't think they were ever published in this country. Just quietly, I also grabbed Vampirium for $2 - a bit of a bargain I think?
P.S. I couldn't find a thread for this series, please someone enlighten me if I have missed it.

Indeed, they were all in the children's section. It must have been a clear-out by a foreigner, as I don't believe they were ever released in this country. So they may have been there for a few years, as we had been closed to foreigners for some time when I found them.
Believe me, I had a thorough look after I saw Vampirium, but I didn't see any other rarities.
It was in one of the two second-hand bookshops in the shopping centre with the narrow, crowded streets, just down the road from the park. This is not where I live, so I can't make frequent visits. But I will certainly pop in whenever I get the chance.
