Just wandering if anyone has these in epub or a similar format and can do a word count of some of the main books.
I have some on my shelf and they're very thin! Would be really interesting to see what the actual word counts of some of the earlier ones are and some of the later ones like Howl of the Werewolf or Crystal of Storms.
Ty for any info / help

I don't know, I'm sometimes an enthusiast for 'bang for your buck' and as such I've noticed more recent FF has - sometimes - bigger font and fewer words per reference with the argument they're 'pitching to a younger audience' .

It would be interesting to compare; I always thought the recent books had more content however maybe you're right re the font size.
If anybody has any info please post!

Jonathan Green's ones has been excellent, the issue is more with Livingstone's and Higson's gamebooks. Eye of the Dragon has 407 references, Gates of Death 470, but the former is unnecessary paragraphs and the latter is bad writing.

Some back of the envelope calculations suggest that the story part of Warlock (the numbered sections plus the intro), is only around 30,000 words.
EDIT changed to 30,000. Close to 29,000.

Having a bigger font might be appealing to the aging original readership too.
