1) You walk down the corridor. You may or may not be wearing leather armour or have a shield (you decide). Roll 2 dice - if you roll a 12 turn to (3). Otherwise turn to (2).
2) You fall down a spiked pit and are splashed to the 4 pit walls. Your innards and blood seep down the walls! YOU ARE DEAD!
3) Roll 2 dice. If you roll a 12 turn to (4). Otherwise turn to (2).
4) Roll 2 dice. If you roll a 12 turn to (5). Otherwise turn to (2).
5) Roll 2 dice. If you roll a 12 turn to (6). Otherwise turn to (2).
6) You reach the treasure room! But wait! There is a Dude here!
RESURRECTED RAZAAK SKILL 20 STAMINA 40
If RAZ scores 2 consecutive hits in a row, turn to (2). Otherwise, YOU WIN! The treasure is all yours! Congrats!

^ what are the chances of winning that? I make it a 1 in 46,656 chance of getting to Razaak, and with a Sk12 St24 character, you have something like a 1 in 1030 chance of not losing 2 attack rounds in a row in 20 rounds, so it's slightly easier than Crypt of the Sorcerer.

You forgot the item hunt, the blind 'left or right' choices, the obligatory companion, the chance of getting poisoned, the unusable SKILL bonus and the shop.

You're right - If time allows I'll improve and add those things during the week! Also I forgot about have 3 or 4 Test your lucks in a row... most (definitely the 4th) being fatal if unlucky...

What Ian Livingstone gamebook would be real without a 50 50 do-or-die roll (essential to success, obviously)! One's PC might stand a dog's chance against Razaak's resurrection, but unfortunately the 5 or so combat bonuses littered around are all + skill, not + attack strength (as noted above by bros). And a bunch of useless items, and lots of predictably cursed items..

I make it a 1 in 46,656 chance of getting to Razaak, and with a Sk12 St24 character, you have something like a 1 in 10 30 chance of not losing 2 attack rounds in a row in 20 rounds, so it's slightly easier than Crypt of the Sorcerer. Or alternatively definitely easier than his Blood of the Zombies. What was he even thinking when he wrote that gamebook? It isn't halfway enough for the player to cheat, just, disregard the given rules entirely and make up your own. 😵

Hmm, I wonder if this ambitious, mystery guest from nowhere is going to be seriously embarassed when Shadow of the Giants turns out to make Moonrunner look like Blood of the Zombies?
Unfortunately, we don't have any evidence Lvingstone will return to form (or, as I've suggested, better).

If you fail, turn to (2). If you are successful, then roll 2 dice. If you roll a 12 turn to (3). Otherwise turn to (2).

RESURRECTED RAZAAK SKILL 20 STAMINA 40
You may attempt to escape at any time by turning to (2). If RAZ scores a hit, you are poisoned and must lose 1 STAMINA point this and every following round that RAZ still lives. Oh. Also lose 1 SKILL point per round. If RAZ scores 2 consecutive hits in a row, turn to (2). Otherwise, YOU WIN! The treasure is all yours! Congrats!
Feel free to modify as required. It might by impossible now UNLESS you make all the rolls AND never get hit even once by RAZAAK...

I'm half-expecting Ian to include one in his latest gamebook. I bet you wouldn't dare do a parody of Steve J. But then, Steve wouldn't deserve one.

0.5) You walk down a corridor and come to a junction. Roll a die. If you roll odd, you go left. Turn to (2). If you roll even, roll again. If you roll odd, you go left. Turn to (2). Much better.

I do not get this - I cannot think of examples where Livingstone makes you roll dice to determine where you go, that would be Jackson's Creature Of Havoc, which although not without its detractors is seen by most as one of the best FFs. SJ's Starship Traveller had a great concept but awful execution, my point being his gamebook work could dive like Ian's. I wonder if this is by the authentic Ian Livingstone editor .

This has become too much of a tangent from the actual purpose of the thread, so I've split it off into a thread of its own. Charles has a point - Ian Livingstone's arbitrary 'do or die' rolls determined things beyond the character's capacity to decide: does the Siren's song affect the hero? How many Harpoon Fly needles hit? Which blob of jam attracts the fly? TTBOMK, the only FF book other than Creature to have dice determine which way you go is Curse of the Mummy, in the flooded maze, and that's by Jonathan Green, not Ian Livingstone. I think the author of this new adventure might benefit from a read of Dan Evans' notorious Rule of the Zombies (archived here) for a lesson in emulating Livingstone at his most brutal.

Good point... the original thread was about rolling 2 dice to see how many talisman's Azzur would accept and if you didn't have exactly the rolled number of talisman's, you die. Turn to (2).

1.) You are walking down a nondescript corridor and you come across a door. If you open the door, turn to 2. If you don't, turn to 3.
2.) The door leads to a nondescript room with a treasure chest in it which someone has left lying around. If you open the chest, turn to 4. If you ignore it, turn to 3.
3.) you die for no reason.
4.) The chest opens and inside are a shopping list of items, all of which are useless and never mentioned again apart from one which will save your life 378 references later. There is also a ridiculous riddle here which someone has scratched on to the box for no reason. If you wish to leave any or all of these items, turn to 3. If you wish to take the items and examine the riddle, turn to 5.
5.) The riddle seems to have been written by someone who is literally telling you the only way to kill him, with what weapon, and where to find that weapon. Assuming the riddle to be the work of a madman, you completely ignore it (don't forget to turn to 3 at some other time because of this).
Suddenly you are attacked for no reason by a nondescript MAN who laughs at you for falling for such an obvious trap. If you wish to try and placate the man, turn to 3. If you wish to fight him. turn to 6. If you want to just stand still like an idiot, turn to 3.
6.) The MAN is dressed in some clothes and says something which makes no sense, then he attacks you with his bare feet.
MAN SKILL large number STAMINA even larger number
If you win, turn to 7. If you lose, don't turn to 7.
7.) The dreaded MAN lies at your feet looking like an idiot. If you wish to search the MAN, turn to 8. If you wish to do something completely out of character which makes no sense what so ever, turn to 9. If you wish to leave, turn to 3.
8.) The man was carrying a long list of silly objects. If you wish to leave the room, turn to 10. If you don't, turn to 10 anyway.
9.) For no reason a nondescript shopkeeper appears in the room and starts to try and sell you some strange objects. You are about to laugh at him when a LITTLE GIRL enters the room and beats you to death with her dolly.
10.) Turn to 3.

At least 5 of the objects in the chest are cursed and will make you lose 4+ LUCK and SKILL.
Also don't forget the Zagor's Son Skill Above 12 Stamina Above 24 Special Attack kills you if he rolls double even if he doesn't hit you (obviously) you will have to face, but more importantly the terrifying endgame boss of a Jib-Jib (Skill 1 Stamina 2).

That link just takes me to the FF website - where is the adventure, exactly? You'll need to put the link into the Wayback Machine. I'll fix it so it should go direct.
