From TUFFF (Sep 2011)... I am just curious how does the timeline work in FF. Are all books set at roughly the same moment or does it advance? If so how does this work? I noticed that Return to Firetop is set 10 years later than the original.

From TUFFF... Of those we can date, either by explicit reference, connections with other books, or mention of the events in Titan and the 10th AYB, most are set in and around 283-5 AC, with RtFM being a notable exception. I did a series of posts on this in titan_rebuilding I think, and bits and pieces have been added to Titannica (see fightingfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Titan%27s_Timeline for example).

Nice timeline, didn't see that before. A few bits I thought would be worth adding... 175AC: "the war lasts 2 years". 182AC Voivod, Warlord of the Apocalypse, also said to be "death itself", reappears in the Old World along with his 5 Shadow Warriors. But before he can raise his army of the undead he is defeated by a lone hero weilding the Spear of Doom. What do you think?

Eye of the Dragon must be set after RtFM as Yaztromo is now the Grand Wizard of Yore. It also makes sense as Littlebig talks about Bigleg as if he did not die recently. Some other points:
All Luke Sharps fantasy books are most likely set in a similar timeframe since an aged Astragal appears in all three. Deathmoor must be set in a different generation than Masks of Mayhem as there is no mention of MoM's hero character having a sibling he/she shares power with (in fact it specifies that Ifor Tynin is de facto co-ruler). Of course, neither one of the wet blanket king and queen of Deathmoor match up with the "if you want something done you have to do it yourself" philosophy of MoM's hero. Magehunter must be at least a year or two after Slaves of the Abyss, bearing in mind who is now ruling Kallamehr. The Crimson Tide is set over the years immediately after the war depicted in Black Vein Prophecy. Cavens of the Snow Witch, Forest of Doom and Temple of Terror most likely take place over a few months. Trial of Champions occurs a year after Deathtrap Dungeon with Armies of Death happening soon after that.
