i like how you made your avatar move just a fraction to be noticed I attempted to animate it so he moved up a down a little as he hovered above the table, as you can see from how it turned out, it's been a long time since I've made an animated gif. The fact that it now works as a nice little attention grabbing device was more of a happy accident.

It did however make me think I was losing my mind at first!
Oh, and welcome - can't remember if I already said that but couldn't hurt to do so again.

I bumped into this forum today. I love FF books but I find it hard to get the missing titles for Series 2.

Welcome. Yeah I think Series 2 had a pretty short print run. I only have Stormslayer and Night of the Necromancer from it.

Hello all, I'm Oakdweller, a long lost stray from the old Unofficial Forum. I made the mistake of being away from the site for a few months and when I tried to log in to submit a review... Well, it turned out that everyone had upped and left me. Sob! It's only recently occurred to me to search around to see if FF fans had relocated somewhere. My main 'purpose' on the site was in submitting rather wordy reviews on all of the books in order. I think that I got as far as Fangs of Fury, so before too long I hope to write my first new review for Dead of Night. Work is MANIC at the moment, but will be more settled in a couple of weeks.
I noticed that someone has tried to salvage many reviews and comments from the old site. What a happy surprise it was to see that many of my reviews have survived, albeit a few of them in fragmented form. I noticed that the salvager has said that they would appreciate my help in identifying some material (Scorpion Swamp and Seas of Blood had such comments I think). Please let me know what you want me to do and I'll get on to it whenever I can.

Well, I would of course repost the material if I still had it. Unfortunately, I rather stupidly saved my reviews onto a memory stick without backing the files up anywhere else. The stick in question laid down to die long ago.(I probably thought that I wouldn't need to access the files again). The only old review that I still have access to is the one for Armies of Death, which I notice is one of my lost pieces. This one survived simply because I saved it to the wrong location by mistake - serendipity. I reposted it a few minutes ago.

Hi Oakdweller, welcome back. Yes I still have a few bits and bobs floating about. Most of the time if anything was recoverable it was stuff on the first page of the thread - usually anything after that was lost. Sometimes, as with Chasms of Malice, nothing was recoverable. More often the first page was fully cached, but sometimes I had to scrape together unattributed phrases into sentences and paragraphs with no clue as to how much of it was missing. Anyway, enough of that - I'll PM you.

Good news: I looked through some of my old files and found another folder that contained some of my old reviews from TUFFF. I can't even remember creating this file, but I think I may have decided to take the unusually sensible move of backing my work up. On the downside, it only has two reviews from the end of my time on the site: Portal of Evil and Vault of the Vampire. I hoped that my last review, for Fangs of Fury, would be there too, but it's not for some reason. Now that really IS all I have left. I'll post them both in a few minutes time.

Hi everyone. I'm Glen, and I was on the old Unofficial Forum, but I didn't really do a lot there, so you quite possibly won't remember me. Well, I'm too young to have grown up with Fighting Fantasy in the same way that many of you did (Curse of the Mummy was released the day I was born), but a chance encounter with my dad's old copy of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain got me into the series and over the next several years, through a combination of second-hand bookshops, the wizard reprints and eBay, I managed to get all the main series books, plus Sorcery!. I'm now in the process of getting a puffin edition of every book, and I'm just waiting for the last two to arrive.
I've also tried (and failed) on many occasions to write my own adventures. The only one I ever completed was, when I was 8, a 100-paragraph adventure called, by complete co-incidence, 'Beneath Nightmare Castle' (though I've since renamed it).
Anyway, hello again, and I'll try to be a bit more active this time around!

Hi Glen, A 100-ref adventure is a lot more dedicated than I'd have managed at 8. (Actually, I think it's still more refs than any of my minis and I didn't start until I was older than you are now!) Does it still play OK? Actually one of your posts from TUFFF survived: a review of Midnight Rogue. (On reflection my comment looks a little snarky, sorry! )

Well, I've lost the copy I printed out of it and I don't think any digital records survived, but from memory it was extremely linear and only reached 100 paragraphs with some pretty serious padding. I had fun writing it, though Btw, I don't find your comment at all snarky, so no need to worry about that

Hello FFers! I just discovered this forum and Fighting Fantazine after looking for resources to think about writing my own gamebook. Great to find a community that still loves these old books that I grew up with… My names Rich and I have fond memories of hiring all the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks from the library back when I was a youngster and, along with 2000ad, forged my interest in art, fantasy, horror and all that good stuff! I now live in Australia and have recently started collecting gamebooks again (I daily kick myself on the amount of FF books I sold for a quick buck when the eBay boom started, lol), I have all the Fabled Lands, about 12 FF’s (including my absolute favourite Out of the Pit) and a few Way of the Tiger, Marvel Gamebooks, etc. But, FF will always be top dog for me! I’m on here to connect with other fans, but would also love to get involved in the Fighting Fanzine if you’re looking for contributing artists? I’m a traditional illustrator (as in brushs, inks, pencils, etc) very much inspired by the art that used to grace the pages of Fighting Fantasy, White Dwarf, 2000ad etc. I’ve included my portfolio link below (some of the themes in these examples are a little more adult than those publications, due to most of my working being commissioned by Punk and Metal bands, but I’m happy drawing general fantasy too!) No worries if not, either way I’ll be sticking around to chat about these books as I rediscover them… Apologies that was so long and please to meet you all! Portfolio

I am Vagsancho. The number one "fan" of "Crypt of the Sorcerer". and Razaak. My favourite FF book! (Followed by City of Thieves, House of Hell, Deathtrap Dungeon, Talisman of Death, Slaves of the Abyss, and Howl of the Werewolf). I am sorry to see that the Tin Man's android have published "Appointment with Fear" - one of the worse books of all in my opinion!! - befores all the fantastic FF books i have just said above.

Hi guys,
my name is Joao and I'm from Lisbon, Portugal. I've been a fan of Fighting Fantasy since 1988, and I own the whole collection.
I would say my favorite books are Deathtrap Dungeon, Temple of Terror, Rebel Planet, Robot Commando, Crypt of the Sorceror and Trial of Champions.
I'm currently working on an Android App to manage all Fighting Fantasy books, with all specific rules implemented so that you don't need to user paper and dice, just the book. I will be releasing the app at the end of this month with all gamebooks from Warlock of Firetop Mountain to Robot Commando supported, and will be performing regular updates of the app with the new following books.
I'm happy to find out there are a lot of people out there who share the love for these books!
Cheers!
