I was just browsing a thread on the Gaming Den, and stumbled on this: George RR 'Poomchukker' Martin, with and without glasses which I think originated on the TurnTo400 blog. Has anyone else noticed any similar FF lookalikes? Either with those on Earth or within the books themselves (as Greenspine noted here).

This one may just be me - also I don't have a great version of the book pic to hand - but you know when you visit the Mountain of Ineffable Holiness and the creature there promises you 'Endless Love'...? 'Hello'

Maybe if your HONOUR score is too low, the Kirin can still be convinced to join you if you offer him a creepy sculpture of his head.

I've thought of resurrecting this thread before, but was reminded to do so by bloodbeasthandler 's post wrt Superhero Comics: Alan Moore, that grumpy old wizard. I think he lives under a bridge in Northampton. View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentFunnily enough I've been getting into graphic novels and comics more recently too, a lot of them written by him. Read the Watchmen earlier this year for the first time, V for Vendetta, some of Swamp Thing.

Not seeing thealmightymudworm's recent one myself. One is an ultra-thin plastic-style model with no head. The one below is a guy who looks 115 years old and evil. The only reason the model's arms are as thin as Razaak's is because one of them fell off the stand. OTOH Raquel Welch and the cavegirl look so similar it looks like the artist either emulated or subconsciously remembered the BC film starring Raquel Welch. The eyes, the hair, the arms and lips look uncanny. I still wouldn't be surprised if the artist had never seen the film though, they're both good tries.

I've always felt the sorceror in Seas of Blood to be something of a (Freddie) Mercurial character It's a kind of magic I suppose.

Am certain I am not the first to point this out but someone with more than a passing resemblance to Harrison Ford out of Bladerunner turns up in Rings of Kether

One minotaur can look very much like another, but the minotaurs in Daggers of Darkness reminded me of the Bob Naismith Citadel Miniatures of the C-25 range of the 80's. Unmistakable. And real beauties they are!

Am aware that this is diverting slightly from the initial aim of the thread but the Corpse Golem from Revenge of the Vampire is certainly the 'Monster from Hell' from the Frankenstein film. Also see the 'incidental art' of the monster in FF58 too - the one where it looks like it is going to strangle you. . The corpse golem looks a bit like Jon Lovitz

I think van Heldenghast from Moonrunner reminds me quite a lot of Margaret Rutherford, especially in her portrayal of Miss Marple.

I think van Heldenghast from Moonrunner reminds me quite a lot of Margaret Rutherford, especially in her portrayal of Miss Marple. Moonrunner's illustrations are full of shout-outs to movie actors. I don't have the time to search for suitable images right now, but Hollmann is Hammer Films stalwart Michael Ripper, Mawn Pretoragus is Vincent Price, and Kilmarney and Hogg have a definite touch of Laurel and Hardy.

Either way, definitely a Harrison Ford vibe going on there.

A less than precise likeness, but...
To be honest I'm not sure I want anyone to look at me that way – even if they aren't a centaur's bum.

I've long thought I noticed a resemblance between Scorpion Swamp's Master Of Spiders and Ming The Merciless, although definitely one that is 'inspired by' rather than an 'alternate take'. The sharp, evil-looking face, and hands look kinda similar to me.
