Why do they say that assassins of allansia is the gamebook 72??
66 is not gates of death and 67 is not port of peril? So assassins of allansia should not be 68 instead of 72?

I haven't seen it referred to as Number 72 but I guess it's worked out this way: 59 Puffin FFs +4 Sorcery books +6 Wizard FFs +3 Scholastic FFs = 72 Of course this means including Sorcery while omitting Clash of the Princes

Presumably many of you will have seen this already as it was on Facebook – the limited edition version of The Assassins of Allansia (click to enlarge): Looks good! Woah, I don't have/use Facebook so I would have missed that. It looks REALLY nice...

It's also mentioned on the official FF site. Ha you are right! That site looks like old and abdonded, I should check it more often. Even though it is hosted at blogger.com they managed to provide no RSS feed (how did they do that!?) " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png"> So that is out of my gamebook news loop.

This is the link you need for news updates if you don't use Facebook. www.fightingfantasy.com/blogJonathan Green himself looks after the site now.

Anyone else seen the cover and interior illustrations for the Brazilian version of Port of Peril? Some examples can be seen over on the fightingfantasy.com website , news from Friday 16 August 2019.

Why on Titan don't we have these illustrations in the UK version? They are vastly superior to the rubbish that appears in the Scholastic editions. They look more like classic FF illos than anything that's adorned the books since Puffin stopped publishing them.

The cover passes the 'Ian Livingstone test' - 'Does the cover have a monster that looks like it wants to rip your head off?' Answer - Yes.

General Request Alert:
Can someone with a copy of Master of Chaos that has the colour map on the inside cover provide a high-resolution (300dpi) scan of it for me, please? My copy does not include the colour map.
I was going to buy a cheap copy from Ebay, but even their "cheap" copies are stupidly priced!

Ah, that's interesting. Thanks for the link. I think I knew it years ago, but forgot it (ahem!).
OK, I now have that copy of the map, which is OK and usable. But if anyone has a scanner and can scan in a higher-resolution copy, that would be ideal. If you're not sure about editing the image, don't worry I can take care of that and send you back a cleaned-up copy. My only request is that the image be saved in a non-lossy format--PNG is preferable. (Resultant filesizes @300 dpi would be in the region of 8-10Mb unedited, 3-5Mb if edited.)

OK, I realized (belatedly) that this map is actually reproduced in YOU Are the Hero Volume I. If anyone with access to the PDF could send me just this page, great. Otherwise, I've scanned it in myself, despite the shadowing/fuzziness toward the edge of the image due to the book spine.

Any news on if Green will be writing more FF's in the future? No news as of yet. Honestly feel bad for the guy, but hopefully there is something planned. Saying that, there's no news of any other near future releases either.

Maybe they just dont want to be shown up.

There were some rumours about a new Steve Jackson (UK) book a while ago, but I don't know if that's still happening (or ever was).

As you probably know, he’s been writing gamebooks based on Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Beowulf for the last few years, and is set to release Night Before Christmas later this year. What was his last FF title? Night of the Necromancer? – that was back in 2010. That’s nine years ago now. (though he did do You are the Hero 2014,2017).
No idea about the ins and outs of him having a ‘licence’ to write FF. Is it worth his while to do so? Since he does not own the intellectual property of FF, how big is his ‘cut’ of the sales? It is a pity he has not written more FF titles recently because his books are good, but I do not know the reasons for it. Does anyone on here know?

Well, a few posts back sylas and bloodbeasthandler reported that at the most recent Fighting Fantasy Fest Steve Jackson said he was about half way through writing a new gamebook.
So far you're the only person to make any assertions about a new one by Jonathan Green. Perhaps if you were to mention where you heard about it, somebody might be able to do a little research.
