Hey I'm not complaining - with some of the other ones I don't even know where to begin!
To continue our journey in Sid's lair:
----------- After trudging along a rough-hewn stone corridor for some time, you finally emerge into a large circular room, the walls lined with six doors, each made of a different metal: platinum, gold, silver, copper, zinc and iron. Carved into one wall is the following writing:
"The warlock's keys The dragon's teeth The dungeon master's jewels The coils of an elven ring now grown The competing princes The heroes who dare challenge The swift messengers The crystals of the volcano The lines that open the gate"
You sense this is a clue as to which door to open. But which one will you try and why?

OK, bit of a long shot, this:
All the clues point to numbers: 3 keys open the warlock's chest (WoFM); there are 4 dragon's teeth to be found in Zagor's maze (RtFM); 3 jewels open the lock to the final door in Deathtrap Dungeon (DD); when Bistort's ring doubles in size it has 14 coils in total (Sardath); there are 2 competing princes in Gundobad (Clash); 9 heroes (other than yourself) line up with you to face the two Deathtrap Dungeons (DD and ToC); the Archmage's swift messengers are 7 serpents (guess); there are 6 crystals in the volcano that spell out the name of Filash (Stormslayer); and 4 spell lines open the North Gate of Khare.
3+4+3+14+2+9+7+6+4 = 52.
Using A=1, B=2, etc, to work out the numerical values of the metals that form the doors, ZINC becomes 26+9+14+3 = 52.
I'm trying the Zinc Door.

Close. You've got nearly all the numbers right apart from the heroes (that one has nothing to do with DD or TOC). And you're right to add them together. You're on the wrong track by using the A=1 formula though.

That heroes one was a guess, I must admit. You have me stumped there...

The heroes are from Legend of Zagor, right? There are four of them, making the total 47. 47 is the atomic number of silver, so I try the silver door.

Greenspine opens the silver door to find a torchlit corridor, leading ever deeper into the home of Sid...

This is obviously proving trickier than I expected. Have a hint: The difference between P and W.

20, 3, -5.
The hint gave it to me.
Books in Wizard publication order; Puffin number minus Wizard number.

You enter an empty room with no visible exits. The far wall has a large hieroglyph of a lion painted on it. As you wonder what to do next, the door behind you slams shut, and the sadistic tone of a disembodied female voice echoes around the room:
"What have we here? Another contestant come to face the Lion Wall? I wish you luck! The rules as ever are these: behind the wall are four groups of four connected words or phrases. But they're all mixed up. To proceed, you need to identify the four groups of four, and tell me what the four connections are. A secret passage to your next challenge will then be revealed. What could be simpler?"
The evil quizmistress falls silent, and the far wall shimmers. The lion has disappeared and been replaced by sixteen words, arranged in four blocks of four:
BALTHUS DIRE BLOOD BELIAL
BELLADONNA LEAF BLUESTONE BANSHEE
EBLIS DIABLO CLAW MILESCU
BOULDER THOLDUR TROLL APOLLYON
You curse, and then set your mind to this latest fiendish game...

Well that was too easy. I was hoping having Blood in there (fitting into two categories) would at least slow things down a bit!
The wall shimmers again, and the promised secret passage is revealed. At the end of it...
...over to you.

Sorry, but the best I can come up with after a fortnight plus of thinking is another 'continue the sequence' puzzle.
6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 23, 27...

Hmm... well if those are book numbers they have alliterative names.
DD SS HoH FF ToT MoM SS
But they're not all the books with alliterative names. Ones with 'the' in don't seem to be included. Is it that they have palindromic initials, something like that?
Is 34 next?

Yes, palindromic initials, so Stealer of Souls is the next one.

OK, this is absolutely not good enough to justify the wait, but there it is. As will become pretty obvious it is themed on a particular book.

Got most of them, though I'm not 100% sure about 7A, and 9A eludes me entirely. Across 4 Dryad 6 Mandrake 7 Lich 8 Elemental 9
Down 1 Caarth 2 Werewolves 3 Gark 4 Demons 5 Pixies A cryptic clue about the one that's still baffling you: Confused as to glory. I did get this in the end, incidentally! I was being remarkably dense about it, having convinced myself it was harder than it was.

As with the previous such puzzle, I had little trouble with all but one of the clues. A 4 Lord Min 6 Plateau 7 Scarface 8 Envoy 9 Thaum 10 Red Dragon
D 1 Hawkana 2 Roc 3 Vivisect 5 Cassandra ETA: And now I have the lot.

I felt I left a big gap between solving a puzzle and setting one last time, so here's a bonus (based on a particular book again): Puzzle-setting rights will remain with Greenspine regardless. (I say that as though it's likely to be someone other than him who solves this. )

Not completely sure about one of them, though it does fit. Across 5 Nicodemus 6 Silverton 7 Azzur 8 Zanbar Bone 9 Mirelle 10 Bays' Ball
Down 1 Moon Dogs 2 could be Hag's Hair, but I'm unconvinced 3 Blacksand 4 Sourbelly However, I have finally come up with a new puzzle. What (other than coming from FF books, obviously) links the following? A doomed Dwarf. A green-eyed impostor. The Miramar, the Zodiac or Porky's Palace. Cyrus' stevedore device. Piscine predators in the Red River. The town where Obigee lives. The Demon-Stalker's horse. A silver vessel in Deathtrap Dungeon. What the Pocket Myriad becomes in Balthus Dire's room. A priest's son turned wizard.

I was sort of using 'pile' to imply an anagram and 'strands' can only be one thing once you've got that bit.

Is the link Star Wars? Bit of a guess as I own less than 50% of the books. Lightsabre and Darth Vaders attire etc

DOPpelganger 3. HOTels 4. WALdo 5. ? 6. ? 7. ? 8. GOBlet 9. SUN-sword 10. YAZ-tromo(?)
