Here is a great project i believe We should make it happen, he is the major person who believe in the growth of fighting fantasy targeting to a more adult audience, i have done my share and cannot do more, but you know you cant expect less then a 5* gamebook judging by is previous books.

It got funded! By a thin margin, but still! Looking forward to my copy, in due time. I'm currently playing Alice's Nightmare in Wonderland and it is quality, for the most of it. But... I knew it would be.

I expect more from this book then for Alice´s Nightmare in Wonderland, but i cannot tell any specific reason , the fact is that it already has 700 sections and counting , and that it has multiple endings for every character played is certainly a plus, let´s wait and see... By the way picked Alice´s book enumerous times but didn´t read it yet.

Alice is a tough, but fun book. Not a chore to play through multiple times, well, you know, until you've reach that point where you can't take it anymore, but it shouldn't be until at least a few good try. I'm guessing the more familiar you are with the Lewis Carroll classic the better it gets, though.

Don´t quite follow your response hynreck , but since we are off-topic has anyone knows why Tammy deleted her account?

Don´t quite follow your response hynreck , but since we are off-topic does anyone know why Tammy deleted her account? I think hynreck was noting other likely consequences of a passing hurricane. No I don't. I would like to know. She appeared to chuck it in immediately after the US election – not that I'd suggesting that was the reason.

Ist shottie. - a very easy win! Playing as Dorothy - who I presume is a good bitty older than in the books, as she is a pictured as a well endowed bonny lassie! Anyway, unlike the Alice book, I am actually playing as Dorothy which helps (and would have been impossible to do either way with theultiple characters) So, even though the book has 850 references, my playthrough was pretty short- probably because of the multiple characters fighting for their own stories I only fought two characters, and the oddest part was when I went to look for help, found a bunch of wee folk, went to look for more but got captured, ended up on an airship and beat the big baddie. Felt sort of incomplete. Never mind. 2nd shottie the morn, with a different character.

2nd shottie - scarecrow
A poor choice at the start left me weakened for an early fight with a king crow - and I died.

3rd shottie
OK, it is MUCH harder playing the Scarecrow.
Not terribly different to the Dorothy playthrough as you meet each other within a handful of references.
His special abilities arent much use. 'Brain' seems to end up using another skill after careful thought, and Fearsome makes everyone scared of you, until it doesnt.....
Onyways, I came across NO way to increase my endurance, which meant that near the end i met a band of Flying Monkeys and I had no chance...

And because I am stupid, I neglected the RULES. the scarecrow recovers strength after winning a fight.. I will replay from where I died.

And by playing the book as it was intended - I won! - Tin woodsman next

4th shottie - Tin Woodsman
At least this feels different, you start in a different location and dont meet any of yer pals until later! However - this time (and I double checked!!) there is o way to recover lost endurance and after a few fights I was killed by a juggernaut..
5th shottie - still Tin Woodsman
An interesting playthrough, not only did i end up doing something completely different than the other four playthroughs (didnt know that would be possible) but going to look for help near the end AT LAST had a point!!
Anyway, I ended up winning
Last shottie - Lion.

6th Shottie - Lion
A Dull shottie. After a time on my own, I soon met up with the others and things progressed as they did 4 other times! There were also fewer options to turn to references specifically for Lion..
Anyway I won!!
again, I have had it with this gamebook for a while - UNLESS.....
It is obvious that there is a 'secret' playthrough you can do as the witch , and also something involving a skull and possibly other things.. If someone wants to tell me what to do to 'activate' them - then feel free - coz I canny be bothered finding out myself!!

There's 2 characters left to do.
Wicked Witch
You are Pyrena, the Wicked Witch of the West. Your sister was murdered by Dorothy who, with her friends and the Wizard, then assassinated you. Your soul survived but remained trapped in a crystal ball where you have been waiting for an opportunity to have your revenge.
When you see a lightning bolt beneath a section number deduct 30 from that number and read on.
Agility 9 Combat 7 Endurance 18 Special: Brains, Crow Master, Fearsome Fear: Water Start at section 666.
Wizard
You are Oscar Zoroaster, a scientist and expert in all things technological. When you came to Oz, the land was leaderless but the people looked up to you as a great sorcerer and a worthy ruler. You did your best but you were easily distracted and wanted to create an AI to rule in your stead. After defeating the Wicked Witch of the West with Dorothy, you brought the AI online before departing for home.
When you see a skull beneath a section number, add 30 to that number and read on.
Agility 8 Combat 9 Endurance 20 Special: Beast Master, Brains, Over the Rainbow, Pen is Mightier Fear: FailureStart at section 314.

Cheers for that! Not featured in the beginning of my book though - how were we supposed to know? The stats sylas provided were on special bookmarks offered during the Kickstarter campaign. I'm pretty sure they haven't been available since, but I could be wrong.

I didn't get the bookmarks either. I had to ask Jon Green for them and he was kind enough to send me the details.

Don't forget that when you reach the point where you have to travel to the four regions of the land of Oz to gain allies, each of the 4 characters has a preferred location to visit, where you can complete a personal subquest and gain some power-ups (expecially for Dorothy). Anyway, I find that playing as Dorothy is easier, she gains so much abilities that you can evade almost any fights. Then, we have the Tin Man: his ability aren't really useful, but he is a beast in combat, expecially if you find his power-ups neat the beginning. The scarecrow comes next, and the Lion I found to be very underwhelming, expecially his ability... Beastmaster is practically useless...

Tried this recently. The players did not enjoy it quite as much as "Alice" but then we only played as the Tin Woodman. Will go back and try again as another character later in the year.
