Ordinarily, if you are hit in combat you can Test your Luck to take 1 damage instead of 2 (or 3 damage if you're Unlucky). However, what if you're on Stamina 2 and get hit? Are you killed instantly, or are you still allowed to Test your Luck and potentially fight on with Stamina 1? I think the latter makes more sense, but is there a definitive ruling?

The latter option is correct.

Yes I don't see any argument in favour of the former option.
Using Luck is a bit weird but however it works it's happening at the same time as the wound, not afterwards. The blow is 'luckily' landing less severely, it's not landing as usual and then you're 'luckily' recovering. So you don't need to luck your way back from the dead.

Preventing a death blow tends to be the only time I use Luck to reduce damage. If it's a tough battle I prefer to save my Luck to do more damage with the few blows I manage to get in.

Thanks everyone.

When you treat multiple opponents as a single opponent, for example the Sword Trees in Scorpion Swamp, can you use luck to double the damage? The rules don’t state you can’t so I do. The reason I question it is a lucky roll would mean for example you strike 2 of the Sword Trees instead of 1 as opposed to doing more damage to one hit.

I think that's perfectly legitimate.

Maybe your sword slices straight through one to hit another?

But read the rules carefully - some books don't mention using luck in battles, therefore you cannot. I can't remember if Scorpion Swamp is one of those.

Scorpion Swamp allows the use of Luck in battles. I know Freeway Fighter doesn't, though.
