The poll is to choose your Five Favourite Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks. I will do the same for Gamebooks 21-40, 41-60 and so on the five top will go into another poll of 20 and then eventually down to one. I will end some time after Christmas. Enjoy!

I found this one much trickier than the previous, but in the end went for:
- Trial of Champions - Creature of Havoc - Phantoms of Fear - Daggers of Darkness - Portal of Evil
Honourable mentions: Stealer of Souls, Vault of the Vampire, Dead of Night

After spending my entire time on this forum praising Trial Of Champions it does not seem to make my top 5. There's just too many other brilliant FF on the list. Amazing Trial seems to be doing so well though, because it only ranked mediocre in Wilf's FF rankings.
My top 5:
1. Creature Of Havoc (it's awesome).
2. Phantoms Of Fear (it's well-written).
3. Portal Of Evil (it's very playable, has a great story and is memorable). 4. Midnight Rogue (It's original and interesting). 5. Vault Of The Vampire (It has a good atmosphere and is one of the very best Keith Martin books).
Would have voted for Trial Of Champions and Stealer Of Souls (good dungeon-style adventures) and Dead Of Night (a very good adventure but not unique and ambitious enough to be a number one).
Very interesting the way these votes are different from both Wilf's rankings and the votes by author. Does voting by favourite instead of best make all the difference in the world, or are there other factors here?

Thank you once again for all your votes. I found this one challenging to vote for, but my votes ended as: 1 Creature of Havoc 2 Armies of Death 3 Trial of Champions 4 Crypt of the Sorcerer (terrible to play, but exciting story.) 5 Phantoms of Fear I do like Ian Livingstone Allansian adventures.

For me, in order of preference:
1 Slaves of the Abyss 2 Creature of Havoc 3 Dead of Night 4 Phantoms of Fear 5 Trial of Champions
I do like Crypt of the Sorcerer (if you cheat), but since it's unplayable if you don't, I gave my votes to other worthy books.

The first poll has 31 voters so far - I believe that's a lot more participants than either Wilf's rankings or my best of each author polls ever had. I think maybe the recent change to proboards that forces users to register to see the content has meant that several regular visitors who were previously happy to view the forum as guests have now signed up, and that would be my best guess as to why these polls are seeing a lot more activity. It's always nice to get new viewpoints on board, and it's interesting to see the difference in how these types of polls have gone previously, with some books performing notably worse than they usually do ( Talisman of Death), and others a lot better ( Trial of Champions).

I am going to lock this poll and put Temple, Talisman, Khare, Crown and Citadel in a fifth place poll.
