The new launch already sounds more attainable and more affordable so that would be a better start. Anyone considering backing it should Follow their page on Gamefound as well to get a further $5.00 discount (not much but I'll take it). In addition, it looks like it's going to cover some of the VAT-heavy countries so be sure to select the VAT Friendly option if it applies to you. The project has already been funded in just over 6 hours of release! You have 21 days to place your pledge.

Almost halving the target goal was a massive improvement, as is the reduced game cost and shipping cost, the reduced VAT, the preferred wooden tokens and the bonus Forest of Doom scenario 2. All in all, there's little reason not to back it if you have any interest in the game. They really should have opened with this campaign which is better presented and thought out in every way.

I am definitely backing this. The game looks fun and it is good to see some classic FF stories being used for what will hopefully be a successful game, especially as the gamebooks seem to have stalled again.

It would be interesting to find out why 3 out of 7 people have voted no to this poll. I am assuming all members of this forum are FF fans so it seems strange that nearly half of an admittedly small sample would not be interested in this?

I suppose not every gamebook reader is also interested in boardgames. No matter - the game has nearly 2000 backers now and likely to go over.

I AM interested in boardgames and in the idea of a FF game. But I haven't ever put money into a Kickstarter. Maybe the no-voters are like me.

The kickstarter is successful and is garanteed to be released now. If enough people back you could even get a signed card by Ian Livingstone and Martin Wallace. It is also very good value for what you get.

A signed card doesn't really interest me but the game looks like it might be a bit of fun so I backed it.

I'm a big FF/Adventure Gamebook fan from the Puffin days, but I've little interest in it beyond that. If Eye of the Dragon had been released in the old green-spined format, with 400 references and numbered 60, I would probably have been excited to buy it! As it is, I'm not bothered. It might be Fighting Fantasy, but it's not my Fighting Fantasy.

No, if they improved the interior and cover artwork as well as tightening it up, maybe with better quality paper (referencing the topic of this thread), and the changes you suggested, that might raise my view of it. I was excited to buy Eye Of The Dragon at the time - it was a brand new adventure, by one of the two founders, with a generic-but-fantastic dragon on the cover - just disappointed when I opened it up. You know, the way you feel when you see the sequel to a sequel and half-expect it won't be as bad as you might think, only it's worse.

I funded it because "what the hell"
I'm not sure I like the artwork I've seen so far (not very FF), and the cards look text heavy (why not read a book then?). But like I said, what the hell.

If anyone was thinking of backing this but haven't got round to it, it is now in the final 12 hours before closing. It currently has nearly 3000 backers.
