I will now be releasing a series of polls to vote down to the Best set of Interior Illustrations. It will be a similar format to the last series of polls I did in December. I put in the Scholastic ones just for the sake of seeing if anyone likes them. Choose your 5 favourite Sets!

5 votes isn't enough, even if it's only fair for us to have 5 votes. The artwork in Demons Of The Deep and Sword Of The Samurai is powerful but not as terrifying and memorable as some of the others (imo).

First 3 votes are easy and then it becomes tough.
I wouldn't bother including the Scholastic redo art if I were you. Anyone voting those must either be joking or have extremely bad taste in art. But hey, opinions.

I've edited the thread title to reflect the fact that this is the first in a series of polls.

This seems like a good place to choose my favourite piece of internal art from the books I have mapped out so far in this poll:
1 Warlock of Firetop Mountain: The crazed prisoner leaping to attack you. Poor fella. 2 Citadel of Chaos: The Gangee(s). How could it be anything else? Simple and terrifyingly effective. 3 Forest of Doom: The Fire Demon with his whip, crown and sword. 4 Starship Traveller: The Rain Lord. Nice floor pattern. 5 City of Thieves: Hard to decide on just one here. I like Nicodemus with the border composed of the items you must collect. 6 Deathtrap Dungeon: The Mirror Demon. Freaky! I wish this encounter had been on the true path. 7 Island of the Lizard King: The battle against the Cyclops. 8 Scorpion Swamp: The Master of Spiders. Pure Evil! (Selator came close!) 9 Caverns of the Snow Witch: The Banshee. That one REALLY made an impression. 10 House of Hell: The opening page picture of the eponymous House. Great scene setter. 11 Talisman of Death: Cassandra taking a seat opposite you in the Red Dragon Inn. A scene straight from a Western saloon. 12 Space Assassin: The Guard Robot aiming its blaster at you through the hole created by your Gravity Bomb. Metal!

But hey, opinions. Agree with this & suggest you don't include Scholastic redoes if no one else votes for them this round. If anyone does .

I always found the artwork in Caverns of the Snow Witch to be hideous.

I really like the sci fi illustrations - and I love the comics throwbacks in FEAR.

I agree the first three votes were easy. For me, that's Iain McCaig's City of Thieves and Deathtrap Dungeon, and Alan Langford's Island of the Lizard King. Probably in that order. I threw in a vote for Gary Mayes' Rebel Planet as my fave of the sci fi entries. Found it too hard to settle on a fifth vote, so I didn't.

The fandom is shocked, Caverns of the Snow Witch Scholastic has acquired a vote!
