I have decided to start a second series of polls based on the Cover Artwork. The polls will be in groups will be split into 10 gamebooks and will include all Puffin, Wizard and Scholastic varients of cover art. I will not however be including a seperate porthole version of cover for Scholastic or Wizard 2 if they have an ordinary one. I have seen somewhere that there were full page cover art for Scholastic 7 -12 and you can look at those when voting on them. I have decided however to stick with my standard 5 votes for simplicities sake. Feel free to voice your opinions and give reasons why you choose the ones you do. Have fun choosing your 5 favourite!

Good stuff! I'll repeat Misomiso's link from the first thread, which can be used to view the Puffin and Wizard covers for the books in this poll. www.fightingfantasycollector.co.uk/book_covers.htmHere is the one Scholastic cover in the poll (along with the full art for interest).

Thank you very much for this. I tend to be biased for original (often Puffin) artowrk so I hope others vote - I've sometimes chosen art that sticks with me such as Demons Of The Deep Freeway Fighter and Rebel Planet above art that is perhaps objectively higher-quality. Also chose Temple Of Terror and the original Sword Of The Samurai (because I think the world of Puffin's original - Mel's redo version is very good). But I had to vote for Wizard's Freeway Fighter instead of Puffin's because the art is heavily superior\'better'.

I must admit I'm not a huge fan of many of these.
Bot Talismans are very good. I also think Space Assassin is pretty cool and gritty looking. I prefer the Wizard Sword of the Samurai to the Puffin one where the undead samurai's face looks weird and he seems to be dancing a little jig. Final vote goes to Seas of Blood.
Probably alone in not liking Demons of the Deep's cover - it just looks very goofy to me.
EDIT - I just looked again at the Wizard Sword of the Samurai and while I still prefer it to the Puffin one, it's not as good as I remembered so gonna switch it with Rebel Planet. Never really liked the guy in silver on the that one but otherwise it's great.

This lot are surprisingly strong, which has made it tough for me to whittle down to a top 5. I may change my mind on this a few times.
I don't think there is a duff one amongst them. (Though Robert Ball's is severely hampered by being reduced to a tiny porthole.)
Freeway Fighter's puffin cover is currently in my five based almost entirely on just how damn cool I thought it was as a lad. Now I think that has to be enough to justify its inclusion but both Talisman of Death covers and Space Assassin's have had to miss out and I really like those three.
It would have been nice to be able to pick 8 or 9 in this poll. 😂
Wow! After just 7 voters, there is only the Scholastic porthole cover yet to receive a vote! 😮

I voted for the Wizard Talisman of Death and Sword of the Samurai as they are both cool. Puffing Temple of Terror which is great. Seas of Blood and Demons of the Deep as I love the Creatures. I have also decided to release 21-30 as there will be more than other series.

Ha ha, I'm the only one so far who prefers the Wizard Freeway Fighter to the Puffin - I guess that's because I'm rejecting the view the simpler art is better. Like people who prefer Mad Max Fury Road to the cheesy original with its shoestring budget and Mel Gibson in the lead. As its the same artist, I imagine Wizard's cover looks sleeker and more modern because Jim had time as well as experience when he did the redo.

I probably prefer the Wizard one too - the Puffin one always looked a bit too photorealistic to me which made it look a bit bland compared to other books in the series. And I maintain the original Mad Max is the best one though Fury Road is very good too - pity Tom Hardy is utterly bland as Max.

The Wizard cover image was originally used on the box of Battlecars, a game that came out in 1983, the year before Freeway Fighter was published.

Wow, lots of love for the cover of Demons of the Deep, which kinda surprises me. Have never been a big fan of the original Temple cover either. I dig both Talisman covers, and the Sword of Samurai covers. I should own up to being the voter for the gnarly Wizard edition of Temple. Honourable mentions include the original Freeway Fighter and Seas of Blood
