Hello I'm finishing off a 'home mand' CYOA adventure book, and am looking for a random number generator to allocate the paragraph numbers - can anybody recommend any online app?
I remember on here people talking about one hat would randomly generate the numbers 1 to 400 in a certain order, but where you could also 'mark' certain numbers (for keys etc) that would be not in the random generator. Something like this would be perfect if anybody knows what this is!
Many thanks for any help!

If you have Excel:
Column C: Fill with 1 down to 400
Column B: Place a 1 in a row if you want the number to stick. 1, 400, Key numbers etc.
Column A: In A1: =IF(B1=1,1,RAND()) Drag the formula down from A1 to A400.
Column D: In D1: =IF(B1=1,C1,VLOOKUP(SMALL(A$1:A$400,ROW(A1)-SUM($B$1:B1)),$A$1:$C$400,3,FALSE)) Drag the formula down from D1 to D400.
Column D should then give you what you want. Press F9 to re-randomise.
When you have a set of random numbers that you like then copy Row D and paste as values into, say, row E.
