Several of my local shops have already begun putting up Christmas decorations, so I thought I would use that as an excuse to post a Christmas-themed FF adventure I wrote some time ago. Normal FF rules apply and you do not begin with any equipment. I would be extremely grateful for any feedback (positive or not). I am currently working on a Wild West adventure but am getting nowhere, so the thought that someone might care about my efforts would cheer me up greatly.
OK, I met an old man, and I always prefer company in FF books, so I stuck by him. I found some seeing dust, and ran from a Wight horde. I had to kill the old man, got knocked out by a shaman and then had to face the Winter Necromancer. He had a skill of 13. I didn't seem to have any really useful items so I just had to fight him normally. Unbelievably, I managed to get his stamina down to 3 before he finished me off.
I still would rather follow the old man. This time ,i end up dipping my knife in holy water, this helps me defeat the Winter Necromancer (just), however, this time I have no seeing dust, so I get arrested for killing Santa!
One more try tonight, this time, I'll have a good nosy around where I haven't already been....
OK, I succeeded!! I wont go into detail because I heartily recommend this nice wee adventure!
I really liked the writing style, it felt suitably dark and atmospheric, the story was straightforward with a backstory and a bit of personality for the player character. I enjoyed the company you could pick up along the way, and the encounters were all memorable.
I don't really want to give criticism but I may as well be honest! - I only have two!
I never came across ANY ways or means to recover stamina points (I ended my playthrough with only 1 point left!)
There was a riddle !!! - I am completely hopeless with riddles - I had to ask my wife! - though that's just a personal thing and not a fault of the gameplay / mechanics etc!
