It seems that the dreaded Cangui has this fight in the bag and obtains first place due to its ability to have a better than average chance of killing everything else before a fight could even start (is there anything deadlier in the skill 6 category anywhere else inn FF?).
The Medusa is second due to its -2 skill ability (although no such luck for the Koalit, despite having the same ability - and really poor stamina I must admit. At least the Glaciator gets a look-in here with the very same ability.)
In third place we have the Red-Eye and I wonder if that's due to nostalgia or people really thinking that it could 'take down' most of the others? Food for thought when we get onto the skill 7s.

I always felt that the Red-eye sounds cooler in theory than it really is. With that low Stamina, it's usually dead long before it starts getting any accuracy with it's eyebeams.

The first one, at least in my opinion. It's highly likely the first two shots will simply miss an enemy, and it has no other ability but does has low Stamina. But I don't think you can put too much store in a poll with such an overpowered enemy where 11 voted in total and only 7, 5 and 4 for the top three.

For me when I was reading it aged about 9 or 10, the encounter with the Red Eyes in Khare was one of the most sinister and unsettling sections in all the gamebooks, helped by John Blanche's illustration. It evoked the feeling you get when you are being approached and then surrounded by people who intend harm, or at the very least to intimidate you. And i thought Steve Jackson did a really good job writing it. It's this plus the lethality of the Red Eyes' power which got me voting for them.
