Having palmed the nut (7), Redric says, "I agree that the east door would seem a wise choice. Those foolhardy enough to wish to go west are welcome to, however."

Unfortunately the birds will not leave their master.
Seems like the party is selecting the east door, though the pirate hasn't decided yet.
Need confirmation from Civil and Kradon, are your characters going east with the others or west?

East it is then. The party find the east door unlocked, and the door opens into another passageway. After 15 or so feet, the passage makes a 90 degree turn to the left, and about 30 feet later it ends at yet another wooden door. You try it; it is unlocked. Beyond the door is a room... The room is rectangular and doors lead from it to the north, south (which you have just come from) and the east. The floor is bare and rocky and you cannot see anything alive in the room. Along the west wall, various objects are hanging. In the centre of the hall is a large portrait of a warrior, dressed in battle armour. A large sign under the portrait reads:
'These objects are the property of Marg, the Slaymaster. Touch them not if you value your life.'
The objects that the message refers to are: a silver necklace; a small leather pouch; an axe; and a sparkling jewel set in a pendant. The room is lit by a burning torch which is stuck into a crack in the wall.

Redric steps forward carefully and attempts to lift the necklace off the wall with the tip of his sword. (Would this involve a Skill Test?)

"Slaymaster? Sounds like a bad guy to me. "Ready for some glory, Murg? Could be a ballad in it - 'The Battle of Murg and Marg'." Takes the pouch. *shouts*"Okay, 'Slaymaster', I'm touching your stuff. What are you going to do about it, eh?"

Talbion walks as far away from Throma and Redric as he can whilst remaining in the room.

"Death or glory"
I pick and try on the pendant.

Also is there anything written on the painting?
I am turning the painting over to see if there is anything behind it or written on the back.

As Civil examines the painting, he notices that the portrait's gaze follows him as he walks across the room!
It seems several of the adventurers have decided to go for the items. Just as Throma finishes her sentence and touches the pouch on the wall, the party hears a deep rumbling sound.
I need to know specifically what each adventurer's next action is. Note that no one has grabbed anything yet; taking an item will use up your action.

I'm going to gamble on grabbing the axe. The slaymaster is on his way anyway and I'd rather he didn't get his hands on the thing he mastered slaying with.

Loud voice: "Marg! My lost half-brother! I knew you well!"
Going to extinguish my lamp and grab the flaming torch.

I eye the pendant but back away to see what happens to those who are attempting to take the items.

"On second thoughts I think I will back away and see what happens to the brave warrior who is grabbing the axe. I fear a lightning bolt or bolt of flame".
"The thing is will some of the items be vital or mere trinkets? The axe is probably the best one to choose in case it is magical".
"This dungeon seems to be parsimonious when it comes to revealing its secrets".

"Marg. I once heard that name. But it was not for his things that I entered this place." Kradon sits in the middle of the room, and waits inert.

"Using the flaming torch can we set the painting on fire and then take the items? It must be magical if it is following our actions so if we destroy the painting can we stop the rumbling at the same time and load up with booty?"

The party cautiously takes heed of the rumbling. Except Jack, who has decided to take the axe from the wall. It is a fine looking axe and you may add it to your possessions. Remember that you have to specify that you are equipping it in order to receive its benefits. I note Murg now wields the flaming torch.
As the axe is lifted, the rumbling stops. Jack gives the party a quick wink, and is about to walk away from the wall when a loud siren goes off. Footsteps are heard coming from all directions.
Again, you have time for one action. I will allow for the scoffing down of provisions, though I don't think anyone is too damaged at this point.

Footsteps are heard coming from all directions. Even west? If so, step away from the wall and watch in case something's about to try breaking through. If it's only directions with doors, stand at the side of the south door (the side with the handle, not the hinged one), hoping to surprise whoever comes through it. (6, if a roll is required)

If everyone else is busy guarding doors, Murg will examine the painting. How big is it? What sort of quality? Can I take it off the wall? How easy is it to carry?

"Yes – two to a door! Seadogs never fight even one to one less needs must."
"Avast ye!" *shakes axe at Kradon*
I'm going to guard the North door (and try to motion Civil to join me). Having embraced the madness, I'm going to try fighting with the axe. As I'm already holding it I'm hoping that doesn't count as an extra action...?

Whilst the party prepares for battle, Prek grabs the pendant, add this to your list of possessions. The jewel is cold to the touch.
Again the party hears a loud rumbling sound and shortly after, another siren sound, followed by the sound of footsteps that, as expected, are coming from all directions.
Murg examines the painting further. Aside from the moving eyes, it appears to be a regular painting. You check for anything behind the wall, peel the backing off...and find nothing out of place. The portrait is far too large to fit in your backpack, however.
The rest of the party has braced itself for an attack, their positions have been noted. I also note that Jack is now wielding his new axe.
Your move, adventurers. I will assume that a non reply means you will hold your defensive position.
