On a whim, I paged through Warlock of Firetop Mountain to see what magic items showed up that were not specific to solving a particular encounter, but just had a "rules effect". Mostly of interest to writers and RPGers I suppose.
I could find the following. Let me know if I missed something:
A enchanted sword that raises Initial and current Skill by +2 (Seems like this should just have been +2 Attack Strength)
A shield that lets you roll a die when you take a hit. On a 6, it reduces damage by 1 (Might have made that a 5-6 instead)
A magic helmet that gives +1 Attack Strength.
A gleaming sword that gives you +1 Skill (though it may be a cursed item? You find it on the beach)
Any others that you can recall? Again, not thinking of encounter specific items but ones that grant a specific bonus of some sort in the rules.

A Y-shaped stick? If you think of water-divining as a magical ability, that would count. Just a shame that you never get thirsty enough to need it.

To clarify, I meant items that have a function in the game rules, rather than being tied to an encounter or puzzle.
Though isn't there a spot in the book where you eat dry bread and have to drink? Or is that in Citadel?

The bread is in Citadel - you get the option to eat various food items in the pantry.

There's also the Holy Water that heals and the Potion of Invisibility.
