I was hanging around with 62% of my friends and we decided to play a rolepying game. I created it back in 1989 and it is a cross of "the Adventure Game" , "the family Ness" & one of the spooky episodes of Dramarama"
For obvious reasons it is set in the diner from "Spatz".
86% of my friends decided this was a great idea.
However a large problem has occurred and we had to stop playing and travelled on the Megabus to Milton Keynes ( The only place I know with a stable Internet connection). I am the only person in my group who can use a qwerty keyboard so I have to tell you what has happened and please (quickly!!!) tell us how to proceed.
Treguard, who was running the diner was away to send the characters on a Major quest to find a mathematician who was competent at working out percentages when my friend rolled a 9 (on a d20)
This meant that as per my rules (which can't, I repeat cannot be changed) the players wife's sister's puppy fell into the strawberry patch!!
We cannot work out how to get around this, but possibly the inclusion of the diner was the major issue?

I was born in the early eighties so Spatz was my time, but I had to look up the Wikipedia entry because I'd forgotten all about it. Maybe you and your mates are more creative than I am, especially if you just make your own games. % can be worked out with maths 1 รท 20 = .5 * 100 = 5%. The maths on a 6, 8 or 12 sided die follow the same formula. Was mathematics at least part of your problem? If the problem was your friend had to go and do something else and hence the adventurers were unfairly treated, you can always do-over from that point. You can always change the rules because it's your game, there are never problems or unfair things in games.

You must ask 73% of your family to get 38% of their pets to help the puppy. Then, 41% of you must eat 17% of the strawberries. If one of the pets has a name with a 'J' in it then none of the above could happen and ...
>Snip 17 pages of useless information which nobody is ever going to read<
Now you must (insert ridiculously specific information about things nobody else on earth would care about) and then you must do this and that and something else for 27 minutes or 28.7% of the day, only on Tuesday, NEVER any other day and then ...
<Snip 38 million pages of stats no one in their right mind would ever read>
Blah, blah, nonsense, gibberish, and stats about percentages...

I doubt that answers the poor person's innocent query....
EDIT - I reckon Monkeystoe is a liar liar pants on fire because Spatz didn't come out until 1990.

I doubt that answers the poor person's innocent query.... EDIT - I reckon Monkeystoe is a liar liar pants on fire because Spatz didn't come out until 1990. Yes, I should explain that I created the RPG in 1989. But in 1993 while arranging the videos in my tardis video cabinet, I realised that there had to be a diner in the RPG. Spatz was just on, and who better to run the diner than the dungeon master of "Knightmare"?? I considered a time travelling diner, a bit like the car in the "Happy Days" cartoon, but only 42% of my friends had watched it. Anyway. We are still stumped withe the strawberry patch. There is a secret way to get the puppy out but it involves invoking "Wizbit" (without getting Paul Daniels involved) and also shouting at the Fun House and attracting the attention of the cheerleaders. 92% of my friends will never work this out.

I now have a sequence playing in my head in which the guy tap-dancing on the burger patty at the beginning fails to avoid the descending bun-half and is crushed horribly, followed by a cut to Treguard saying "Oooh nasty." Am I alone in this?
