I also fared worse at Creature than I did at Keep. I had respectable enough stats: Sk 10 St 22 L 11.
What I lacked was a good memory of the correct path, as a result of which I failed to acquire the pendant, and ended up causing a dead end to cave in on me while searching for secret doors unassisted.

Took a shot at KotLL SKILL 10 STAMINA 17 LUCK 12 RESOLVE 10
I won! Took a reasonably scenic route and picked up the spear, fine armour and shiny shield, not to mention getting my sword sharpened, (though I mostly avoided pirates and didn't bother blowing my whistle). In the end Mortis wasn't much of a challenge.
Final stats:
SKILL 10 STAMINA 14/17 LUCK 9/13 RESOLVE 12
Notes: blow whistle at Finger of Lhyss, Charm of Disruption (253)
Fights won: Thrasher, undead tomb robber, temple guardian, Chaos Shaman, Chaos Pirate Ogre, Chaos Pirate Orc, Wolfpack, undead guard x 2, Davmori, Mortis

The decision to deliberately provoke the three PIRATES proved profitable, since otherwise I'd have i) not killed enough enemies and ii) not had the gold to buy the healing potion which I needed to survive.

Yesterday, I tried a similar strategy with Beneath Nightmare Castle by going after the two Blood Lurchers. However, the strategy backfired as I had forgotten how tough that fight is, and I ended up using Luck twice to win it. This left me short on Luck when I needed it in the Merchants' Quarter to keep some money to buy the Trident head. I've never won without the Trident, although I know there is a viable path without it. I couldn't navigate the Senyakhaz sections and ended in an instant death to the Vlodblad (this is somewhat easier to avoid if you have the Trident). So, I ended with 18 kills, but no victory.

I wasn't satisfied with my results for BNC, so I decided to try Citadel of Chaos. My Initial Stats weren't great, so I kept it simple. I won by exposing Dire to sunlight.
Initial Stats: Skill=8, Stamina=21, Luck=7, Magic=12
Fights Won (4) Dwarf Goblin Orc Gark
Items Acquired 6 gold copper key jar of ointment Potion of Magik hairbrush magic sword +1 silver mirror Golden Fleece
Information Gathered The password to enter the Citadel is Scimitar. The combination for the magic lock on Dire's grandfather's quarters is 217. Obtain the Golden Fleece to advance further into the Citadel.
Didn't use a guide.

Citadel of Chaos Sk9 St18 Lu12 Ma13 Well, this is embarrassing. Too quick to rush through the final fight, I chose to hide behind the curtain rather than pull it down and ended up strangled. Kills Ape-Dog Dog-Ape Dwarf Goblin Orc Gark Golem (I assume I can't include the Tall Man since the Short Man dealt the killing blow)

If you win with the odds barely above 50 50 Balthus Dire magically appears behind you and stabs you in the back like a Japanese game!

Did even worse in BNC but I'll go with it for this week due to my worse stats: Sk8 St16 Lu12 Wi7
Took too long to break down the door at the start and had to fight 6 swordsmen. Killed 5 but the last knocked me out and I was tortured to death. Combats won Swordsmenx5

If I were still competing, I'd go with Citadelin which my Sk 8 St 21 L 9 M 15 adventurer gave Balthus Dire a bad case of sunburn.
Fights won Dwarf Goblin Orc Tall Man Gark Sewer Snake Golem rather than Castlewhere my Sk 7 St 20 L 9 W 11 character came within 1 Stamina point of being overcome by the sextet of Swordsmen, but ultimately got as far as the final fight before failing thanks to two errors made previously: I went the wrong way in the gardens, so I didn't have the green globe, and I'd misremembered Senyakhaz' Skill as being higher than it was, and wasted the Potion of Berserk Rage against her. 24-hour warning for Nathan and Mudworm. This might be a short search *sigh* skill: 7 stamina: 22 luck: 10 special skills: aim, jump, deftness items: rope and grapple, ivory mungie figurine, sturdy boots, bow and quiver, dagger, 1 quetzal feather fights: flying fish (3 rounds), madman, champaque info: rope and grapple provides climb special skill, pass valashka
I lasted longer than I expected but my terrible skill caused me to miss the poison and I stood no chance against the manticore.

I'm not at all well-versed in CoC, certainly not enough to remember the correct path, so got killed by the gangees.

Temple of Testing.
Sk 10 St 20 Lu 9
Potion of Luck (2 doses)
Victoires:
Bronze warrior (lucky dice - same skill but I won 5-1) 5 snakes (a very very very long and dull fight) Snake's head fritillary Aboriginal shaman Giant bat (I wasted a luck point to dodge a fight with a 6/6 creature? Jeez) Griffin (another 5-1 win) 2 nunchaka
Loot:
Runic shield (+1 Sk fight bonus) 7 small bones Tortoise shell Bunches of herbs Wooden flute
Then I get killed by a ninja...

Given the way that rooms reset in Temple of Testing, it's probably worth reminding people that repeatable combats only count the first time. Even if the adventure forces you to redo one: sorry, but that's just your tough luck.

In Search of the Mungies' Gold Sk9 St21 Lu9 As with my last attempt at this, I had an item pinched then lost my boots right at the start. I found some new boots but their owner didn't take kindly to me taking them and chopped me up with his axe. Fights: Flying Fish (only won 2 of the 3 rounds) Madman

Despite a poor Skill, I had my most successful attempt at Mungies yet. Which isn't saying much. I managed to avoid the Howl Cats that killed me on my first try, and to escape from the Champaque that got me second time round, but Skill 8 isn't much help against a pack of nine Mungies, especially with the special rules for the fight. 24-hour warning for nathanh, peasantscribbler and thealmightymudworm. No points for stats but I like my odds of winning! Skill: 12 Stamina: 22 Luck: 12 Gold: 21 Guide: Champskees
Items: 1 gold, sword, rope and grapple, lantern (2 skins), chainmail, ring of agility, 7 provisions, green leaf brooch, scroll of civic pardon, spear of doom (11 charges), ring of destiny, mace, copper key Fights: agitator, shadow warrior 5, hammicus (1 round), shadow warrior 2, clown, guignol, shadow warrior 1, shadow warrior 3, shadow warrior 4, Voivod (I won after 1 round) Info: Hegmar's warning, turn to 233 instead when killing shadow warriors, shadow warrior 2 destroyed, shadow warrior 5 destroyed, may not return to 296, 16 to view science of numbers, arrived early, shadow warrior 1 destroyed, shadow warrior 3 destroyed, shadow warrior 4 destroyed
My first fight with a shadow warrior went absolutely atrociously, I took 6 hits in a row which meant my chainmail was in really rough shape after that fight. Luckily I rolled well for both the mandrake fight and the spear so the rest of the book went well for me and I took Voivod out with my first hit.

Question on Mungies Gold: I have acquired a bow and arrows from the BLACK ELVES, but it didn't tell me how to use them. Am I allowed to refer to the paragraph that explains them from the market, or do I just have to carry them around uselessly?

In the end it didn't matter because I missed my shot and then rolled hilariously badly against the WRAITH APE and was killed. Sk 9 St 20 Lu 12 Kills: FLYING FISH (hit it 3 times), MADMAN (Spared), 3 BLACK ELVES, OLD MAN, GREAT APE (disturbance encounter) Items: Rope and grapple, skeleton key, garlic, bamboo flute, bow, 5 arrows, bone bracelet, undecipherable scrolls.

Unlucky.
I recommend posting in the thread on Mungies' Gold to report the issue anyway. The author has read it and responded to comments in the past, so we might get an official correction of the omission.

I don't remember the last FF that killed me while I was trying to navigate a loop (probably it was either the endless loop in Creature of Havoc or the looping maze in Legend of the Shadow Warriors). In Search of the Mungies' Gold has a doozy of a loop, and it got me in the end. I thought my low Initial Luck might be a problem, and, yeah, it didn't help. I lost 10 of 11 Test Your Lucks during the course of the adventure. However, hindsight tells me that I could have made it out of the loop if I had purchased a Potion of Skill rather than a Potion of Health. You see, I got lost in the jungle, and finding your way out is only a matter of luck. Despite having special skills of Observation and Sneaking, I ran into a Blade Tree six times while trying find my way back to a log bridge over a raging river. The Blade Tree decimated my Skill (reducing me to 5 Skill points). When I finally passed a Luck test to find my way out of the jungle, I failed a Skill test to cross the bridge and plummeted to my death. The nine Enraged Monkeys I faced in the jungle were in a single encounter.
Initial Stats: Skill=11, Stamina=21, Luck=7
Fights Won (18) Flying Fish (not sure this counts as I only won 1/3 attack rounds) Madman (reduced to 2 Stamina) Black Elf X3 Giant Leeches Giant Forest Spider Enraged Monkey X9 Giant Bat X2
Items Acquired 30 gold Potion of Health garlic skeleton key Potion of Fortune boots bow 6 arrows bamboo flute poison Quetzel feather
Information Gathered My notes say Pass, Valashka, but I don't know what that means.
Didn't use a guide.

In the Trial of Testing, 23 Stamina and 12 Luck are of scant help when combined with a Skill of 7. I killed 5 Gremlins and 2 Orc Wrestlers, but the Referee did for me.

Took a shot at Mungies
SKILL 12 STAMINA 19 LUCK 9
Special Skills: Deftness, Jump, Climb
...and succeeded! Entirely by the skin of my teeth and reliant on SKILL 12. I did try to browse this one before playing through – I have to say that the endgame with Sansas and the boat seems totally illogical to me and I'd never have succeeded in it unprimed.
Fights won: Flying Fish, Madman, 3 x Black Elves, 3 x Wraith Ape, Champaque, 3 x Howl Cats, Manticore, (mungie and brawler, not finished off), Giant Snake (encounter roll)
