I think members haven't been polled on how (much) Fighting Fantasy they play for a while, nor have they been polled on the extent (if any) of their non-gamebook collection, that is a poll which asks how many books (e-book or paperback) they have read (not owned or played, and the definition of reading is up to you) of Basic Fighting Fantasy books, both Editions of Advanced Fantasy (all three in rules and each adventure module\paperback), Advanced Sci-fi FF RPG (which sounds cool but I don't have), Titan, each Fighting Fantasy novel, each Out Of The Pit, each You Are The Hero, and more I may have missed. I'd estimate over 100 Fighting Fantasy books may have been written, but I'll stop at the 90 mark. This poll closes on Monday June 13th 9 p.m.

I've read:
- 69 FF books - 4 Sorcery books - 2 Clash of the Princes books - 4 Goldhawk Books - 2 FF RPG books - 1 AFF book - 2 FF novels - You Are the Hero Part 1 - Out of the Pit
I've only really flicked through You Are the Hero 2 and Titan so I won't count them. So that gives me a total of 86.
Edit: Forgot the 10th Year Anniversary book, Casket of Souls and Tasks of Tantalon. Although I've not so much read the latter two as stared blankly at the illustrations with no idea what to do. Whatever, it still counts so let's say 89.

Read all the FF except Black Vein Prophecy, Robot Commando, and Blood Of The Zombies, all Sorcery!, Fighting Fantasy & Riddling Reaver, the 3 Edition One Advanced Fighting Fantasy, Trolltooth Wars, Titan, Out Of The Pit, and You Are The Hero Part One. I read Clash Of The Princes (both ones) but hated it. I think that's about 80. So aside from a few gamebooks, I'm chiefly missing the Zagor Chronicles (no big) and Edition Two Advanced Fighting Fantasy. I've no idea if Ian Livingstone's Goldhawk is Fighting Fantasy, but if Blood Of The Zombies can be, so can Goldhawk!

69 FF 4 Sorcery! FF: The Introductory Role-Playing Game & The Riddling Reaver Dungeoneer & Blacksand You Are the Hero The Trolltooth Wars, Demonstealer, Shadowmaster
*counts on fingers* 81 then.
Can't count Titan & Out of the Pit, used to own them but never really read them properly. And I don't think I was ever aware of Clash of the Princes as a youngun...they are on my to read list now, but, uh, quite a long way down it. As in the 'probably will never happen' part of it.

Fighting fantasy yearbook Tasks of tantalon I mentioned before on this site I saw the Fighting Fantasy 10th Anniversary Yearbook in a 2nd-hand bookshop for £10 or something just a few years back, not fully realizing it's value I didn't buy it, but it looked cool with both the game and lots of Titan\Pratchettian noted days in the pages. I once bought a Tasks Of Tantalon but found it fiendishly difficult as a young person. I always preferred the Usborne Puzzle Adventures.

I still love the puzzle adventures! Actually amazing how many are still out there in charity shops/car boots I gave a load of them to charity a few years ago and wish I hadn't, but we were lacking space, apparently, and the children weren't interested in them . Hopefully they went to good homes. And fingers crossed Steve Jackson reintroduces his blending of text and illustrations in the new book like he did with some of his others.

I still love the puzzle adventures! Actually amazing how many are still out there in charity shops/car boots I ordered a copy of Usborne Advanced Puzzle Adventures (3 tough-level puzzle adventures in 1 book) on a nostalgia one before reading this thread, and its sitting in my parents house. I may set up a thread and let you know how I get along with it, I'd do the thread in a months time after reading it while on holiday. I'd think Usborne Puzzle Adventures deserves its own thread, but it's puzzle books with action and humour elements in spite of a very slight gamebook element.

The Usborne Book of Advanced Puzzle Adventures Cool, don't think I tried any of those ones. Edit: Apparently there were only 25 of them - back in the day it felt like hundreds! The Emerald Conspiracy was my favourite.

55 main series (I am counting two where I've only read the app version) 4 sorcery 4 Zagor chronicles (sadly) 3 AFF (original) 1 Titan 1 Out of the Pit 1 Basic roleplaying (Fighting Fantasy) 1 10th anniversary 2 You are the Hero
I have a French copy of Revenge of the Vampire but it turns out my French is insufficient.

Nathan,
Don't feel sad that you have the zagor chronicles.! I would love to have them on my shelf.
Doubt I would read them mind, but I'm sure they would look great.

Nathanh, interesting you have the Zagor Chronicles but not the earlier, better-known & more commercially successful Trolltooth Wars. I think you might enjoy Trolltooth Wars if you like Fighting Fantasy, but it's pretty cliche-ridden and unremarkable. I've only heard bad things about the Zagor Chronicles.

I'm up to 55. I know the first 7 inside out. I got to about 16, then trailed off. I have continued since, but only reading them until I succeeded (or close enough), so I don't know them well.

Out of those who responded, it seems like we read loads of Fighting Fantasy here. Very surprising. And by the way, the sky is blue . Thanks anyway for anyone who responded and I hope our ridiculous collections don't intimidate newbies - it's an amazing series, even if some of the entries haven't been brilliant.
