Is anyone interested in who the people are behind the books and specifically what they look like? We all know what messrs Jackson and Livingstone look like but what about some of the others not pictured in the Fantazine? Jim Bambra:

Wow Robin Waterfield is a proper Greek Scholar! Would like to see him try a Greek / Philosophy based Gamebook!

Wow Robin Waterfield is a proper Greek Scholar! Would like to see him try a Greek / Philosophy based Gamebook! Yes, he is. I read his book Xenophon's Retreat some years ago and enjoyed it and learned a lot. Xenophon’s Retreat: Greece, Persia and the end of the Golden Age is Robin Waterfield’s epic story of a band of Greek mercenaries stranded in Persia, forced to fight their way home across deadly terrain. He could write a book on that and make it true to life set in our world, or in a semi-mythical version of Earth populated with monsters, or even apply it to Allansia with an army trying to make its way home.

Already to be found elsewhere on these very boards but put here for the sake of completeness and because it's contemporary was taken at some point during the 90's and has Steve Williams in it... left to right Tim Harford OBE [not an FF author], Dave Morris, Steve Williams, Paul Mason

Thanks for these. Most authors are not at all as I imagine them to be.

Easy to find images of the two most recent FF contributing authors. Just Martin Allen left to go. But I can't find his picture. Charlie HigsonRhianna Pratchett.

It is well over 20 years old. I can't believe I look younger than Tim (he's about a decade younger than me). This is what I look like nowadays:

That's the Australian author Mark Smith, not Min. Gah! Thanks for pointing that out. But that means the internet LIED to me. And having never seen Mark Smith in the flesh I was easily duped. The biography underneath that man's photo on the alchetron website is certainly in keeping with our intended author.. Mark Smith is an author of gamebooks, including co-authoring two Fighting Fantasy titles (Talisman of Death and Sword of the Samurai)..Oh well, I just spent about 20 minutes stalking Mark Smiths on the internet and found another way to find him. More confident with this one... but I'd sooner have all these photos of the folks both then and now. ..

This is what I look like nowadays: Clearly it has been a hard life over in Japan, but what with their remarkably long-lived population you should still fit in ok. Look at what has happened to Steve Jackson when I looked him up on Amazon. He's getting younger somehow and has become a poet.

You're forgetting: I don't write Fighting Fantasy, and haven't since the series ended in 1995.
