This solution is for the original version (I don't own the revised edition).
This book is named "Curse of the Pharaoh", and it delivers on the implied promise to take you to fantasy Egypt (pyramids, mummies, the desert, snakes, etc.) Perhaps a little too well, as there are very few surprises here. It's still a fairly enjoyable book, but IMO not one of the best in the series.
Note that this solution does not use the potions of swiftness you can purchase at the beginning, as, even though it's not entirely clear from the merchant's speech, I'm pretty sure you may only use them when you are offered to do so, and not just in any fight.
Agility and Psi are never tested in this solution, so only Vigour matters.
- Buy the potion of levitation and the flying carpet
- Go over and speak to the group of children
- Go with the boy
- Fight the Assassin
- Fight the Assassin
- Use your flying carpet
- Either throw gold coins into the bowl to ask the sphinx questions, or just ignore the sphinx
- Wait a few minutes
- Extinguish your light and hide
- Leap out and make a surprise attack
- Fight the Tomb Robber
- Get the magical rope
- Continue down the corridor at the other side of the room
- Continue down the corridor to the west
- Continue down the passage to the west
- Try to walk between the statues
- Inspect the casket on top of the pyramid
- Get the key
- Go left
- Get the flute
- Screw the flute back together and play it
- You have a magical rope
- Climb up the rope
- You have the key
- Get the magical staff
- Hold up the staff and try to command the figures
- You don't have the medallion
- Wade into the pool (restore all your Vigour)
- Use an item
- Use your potion of levitation
- You have the magical staff
- The staff has three energy bolts left
- Fight Ipo the Coiled Shadowy Horror who only has 6 Vigour left
- Go up the steep ascending passageway in front of you
- Jump into the gap in the wall
- Take the sceptre and the stone
- Get the second half of the tablet
- Use an item
- You have the two halves of the stone tablet
- Put the two fragments in the niche
- The Pharaoh's spirit is liberated. The pyramid collapses, but you escape and return triumphantly.
