I wrote a solution for this book back at TUFFF,but it was horribly messy and hard to read.Now I will try to use Champskees' layout for it.
This is a really linear book with many tough fights.Full stats are recommended.Also,this book is incredibly long.Or maybe it just feels like it.
I will post this solution separately,because I am afraid that after typing out the whole thing it will malfunction and I will have to type all over again.Is is definitely not to raise my post count.Or maybe it is.
This is the solution for the Wizard version with easier fights.
Solution:
Start with 5 Gold pieces and a Sword.

This is a very linear adventure. In order to complete it, you pretty much have only one path to follow. The story is well written and there were some interesting encounters along the way. However, the book has almost zero replay value and plays very much like a Livingstone adventure. The difficulty is also unbalanced at times and there are many Test Attribute/Fail and Die tests you must make.
I apologise to the OP for 'pooping on his parade' so to speak, but as the above solution has not been updated in 5 months, I believe it is safe to say that enough time has passed. I disagree with his purchase suggestions; I would not waste money on Yokka Eggs - Oil Skins are much cheaper. You could buy less provisions and purchase Firepowder or an alternative to the Crystal Pyramid, but I believe you really need that extra stamina in this adventure. It is interesting to see both solutions next to each other as I prohibited myself from looking at the one already posted here - almost died from curiosity. I recommend a Skill of 11+, a Stamina score of 18+ and a Luck score of 10+ for this adventure.
You start with: - Sword. - Backpack. - 5 Gold Pieces.
- Draw your sword & stand your ground. - Fight Sk 7 St 7 Cultist. - Ignore the cultist & visit the markets to prepare for your quest. - Take 30 Gold Pieces. - Take Rope & Grapple (-3 Gold Pieces). - Take 3 Torches (-3 Gold Pieces). - Take Lantern & 9 Skins of Oil (-10 Gold Pieces). - Take 10 Food (-10 Gold Pieces). - You have some money left & want to have a look at what they have to offer. - Take Oil of Lotus (-4 Gold Pieces). - Take Crystal Pyramid (-5 Gold Pieces). - Leave and set out on your quest. - You must eat 2 meals here (-2 Food). - Fight Sk 8 St 10 Giant Scorpion. o Resolve combat as if fighting two Sk 10 opponents (obvious error). o If enemy’s Attack Strength is 22: Add 4 Poison & 3 Damage. - Descend the hillside & investigate the ruins. - Answer, apologising for trespassing. - Ask him what he knows of the shaman. - Add note: Cranno’s Warning. - Ask him if he can aid you in your quest. - Trade Crystal Pyramid. - Take Papyrus Scroll ‘5’. - Take Statuette of a God ‘9’. - Take the right-hand fork. - Investigate the source of the noise. - Climb down between the boulders and approach the Dracon. - Show the beast you mean it no harm & keep walking towards it. - Do as the creature demands. - Fight Sk 8 St 7 Trapper. o First time you are hit, Add 1 Poison. - Take Ankh ‘12’. - Continue on your way. - You have Cranno’s Warning on your adventure sheet. - Detour to one side & climb up to the cliff-top in order to avoid the route between them. - You must eat a meal here (-1 Food or 2 Damage). - You do not have a Brass Telescope. - Seek the shaman’s aid & make the dangerous climb. - You have a Rope & Grapple. - Answer to riddle is Time. Turn to Para 360. - Add note: Ankh is the key of Life. - You have no more items to show (+1 Luck, +2 Stamina). - Stop & investigate this entrance into the earth. - Fight Sk 8 St 9 Rasaur. o If hit, Roll D6. 4-6 = 1 Poison & 1 additional Damage. - Search the debris. - Take 2 Food. - Use Papyrus Scroll. 65-20 = 45. Turn to Para 45. - Add note: Cracca is the Lord of Rivers & Ferryman of the Gods. - You do not have a Yokka Egg & do not wish to attract nocturnal hunters (2 Damage). - Make for the ruins. - Use Papyrus Scroll. 346-20 = 326. Turn to Para 326. - Puzzle: o 30 km’s to base of hills i.e. 10km = 1 square. o Priests & embalmers left rift between Gold Tunnels & Oasis. o Temple is two squares from the rift. 10km*2 squares = 20km. o Answer = 20km. - Turn to Para 20. - Defend yourself with your sword. - Fight Sk 9 St 7 Swarm. o -1 Attack Strength for duration of combat. o If hit, Add 1 Poison in addition to Damage. - Choose the path through the hills. - Use the Statuette of a God. - You know the name of the God. Assamarra = 1+19+19+1+13+1+18+18+1 = 91. Turn to Para 91 (+1 Luck). - Approach the tomb immediately. - Test Skill+2. o If successful: +1 Luck. o If fail: Fight Sk 8 St 9 Giant Lizard & Sk 8 St 8 Giant Lizard together. - If hit, Roll D6. 6 = Knocked down (1 round to get up again; enemy scores an automatic hit). - You have a permanent light source (lantern/torch/lamp). - Attack Round vs Sk 10. Fail = Death. - Attack the Mummies in order to reach the High Priestess. - Use something else against them first. - If you have a Sun Talisman: o Use a charm you have. o You have a Sun Talisman. 24*8=192. Turn to Para 192. o D6+2 Mummies destroyed. - Attack with fire. - Use all of your available fire sources to throw at the Mummies (Test Skill per throw. Turn to Para 60. - You have an Eye Shaped Amulet. - Fight Sk 9 St 7 High Priestess. o Enemy deals an additional 1 Poison Damage per hit. - Add 1 Luck. - Try to use some Earthenware Jars. - You have four (-2 Enemy Skill, -4 Enemy Stamina). - Try to destroy the sarcophagus. - Fight Sk 13 St 25 Akharis for four rounds. - Use Firepowder or 4D6 Test Stamina. Success = 3 Damage to you, 6 Damage to enemy. - Attack him with your sword. - Fight Sk 13 St 25 Akharis. o Remember to make deductions to his Skill & Stamina from above attacks. o Note that I do not recommend using the Waters of Life on this enemy; it is much more beneficial to use on yourself when you need it. - Add 1 Luck. - You have an Ankh. 12*12=144. Turn to Para 144. - Fight Sk 8 St 10 Akharis. o If you do not reduce enemy’s Stamina to 4 or less in 5 rounds, death. - See if you can use the artefacts to get out. - Use the crystal orb. - Test Skill+1. Fail = Death. - Test Luck. Fail = Death. - You have thwarted the nefarious plans of the Cult of the Cobra and saved all Allansia from the Curse of the Mummy.

I really don’t understand how you figure out the hieroglyph puzzle from the information provided. It seems an enormous leap of imagination (i.e. guess) is required.
