Revenant Rising is a bit different from the other Gamebook Adventures released up to this point in the sense that you play a dead character. I thought they got a lot right in this adventure, some of the enemies are quite powerful, but as you have your weapon Soulsdeath for the majority of the adventure, you shouldn’t have too many issues completing it. Liked the idea of providing counsel in regards to the battle, but thought the execution was poor and felt like my actions didn’t really make things easier; a large part of the battle relies on lucky random die rolls.
Recommended Fitness: 9+
Start with:
- Short Sword (4 Offense).
- Leather Armour (3 Defence).
- 2 Healing Potions (+10 Vitality when used).
- Backpack.
