From time to time we probably all imagine what life would be like if it consisted of encountering eccentric characters in corridors who present us with puzzling items. Items with strange powers which must be used with wisdom and honour if you are to reach a heroic conclusion. Anyway I was reminded of this sketch... (Some mildly NSFW language. The sketch proper ends at about 3.35)

It was great watching that sketch again. I've had labyrinthitis for nearly two months, and it feels exactly like it's always described in the gamebooks when you accidentally drink a potion of befuddlement or something. Unfortunately, the NHS provides no consultation with friendly wizards who can lift the curse. In fact, I've had to hassle my doctor to get an oppointment at the hospital earlier than the end of August. If anyone knows any wizards I can get treatment from, I'd appreciate it if you can send me the address of their tower or castle.

That's a great name for a condition but it doesn't sound that fantastic to have. I've no contact details for wizards I'm afraid, (well actually I've seen plenty advertising in Facebook comments but I have my suspicions...) but be sure that if my local chemists starts supplying cotton buds pre-soaked in a Balm of Clear Thinking I'll give you a heads-up.

Cheers! Yeah,it is a good name for a condition, especially for an old role-player and Greek myth obsessive like myself, although it does sound a bit made up. Sadly, labyrinthitis doesn't come with visits from Jennifer Connelly.

I noticed that a viral list of amusing flyers/public notices included what must be the world's shortest (and least well designed?) gamebook.

If real life were like gamebooks... ...one could hardly spend a night in the woods without being offered a reiki massage from a night elf. (I know it's just cosplay, but it was just so random I couldn't resist sharing it.)

I see the magic of Lord of the rings... of Harry Potter... meaningless.. A world with no magic is a meaningless world. But from a certain point of view a world with magic is also a meaningless world. In my opinion, God was wrong in this World's Creation. But I do not blame him. He was horribly lonely and wanted some company ... At least he tried.

I know I keep adding SMBC comics here with no obvious sign that anyone cares, but this seemed to capture something about the difference between an epic fantasy tale and a typical gamebook play-through. SMBC - path of a hero

That's very funny.
Reminds me of something like:
One day, all this shall be yours, son!
-The curtains??

To give my answer to the question
...it would make life a lot easier for an autistic person.(solitary, extreme structure, clear outcomes, endlessly repeatable)

Stupidly, I've only just realised that Facebook image links aren't permanent. It bugs me that I can't remember what either of my above posts were. Grr.
Anyway... (For anyone who can't see it embedded, here's a direct link to the tweet.)

Regrettably, right now it seems to be a prequel to Freeway Fighter.
