Currently on kickstarter is jonathan greens new gamebook about alice in wonderland, it finishes on the 4th of august and is shaping up nicely. Jonathan as most of you know has written a few FF books in his time and the artist is going to be Kev Crossley who did the blood of the zombies artwork. Should be good to have another high quality gamebook funded but it still needs a bit of money so please check it out.

Well I've gone and backed it. I would encourage anyone seeing this to do the same. If you love gamebooks (and being here you should) you know that you are in the right hands with Jon Green. Feels like another no-brainer, hopefully it will get funded.

First shottie
Agilty 6, logic 8, combat 11, endurance 23
Ido like the Fallout style 'special' character build. Jings did I get that wrong.
I must make my Agilty better next time as it was my most common roll on this playthrough. And I failed them all
I also must fight characters more rather than using 'the pen is mightier'
I see people moan about the maze! - I made a very simple map and I had no problems working my way through it _ but maybe missed something important?
Anyway, I found the red queen but I used up all my 'pen is mightier r' and had to try and fight her
She killed me!!
ONLY found one option to use ' curiouser and curiouser', logic never came up at all.
So far I enjoyed the book enough, but see other thread for my big problem!
Next playthrough the night!!

2nd shottie
Agilty 11, logic 6, combat 11, endurance 20
Looked into more nooks and crannies this time which meant encounters I missed last time like the eat me drink me stuff and the Cheshire puss. Got to the red queen again and that felt like it should have been the end but never mind.
Through the looking glass and I solved the riddle and got the sword and then I died because of a chess puzzle
Arrrgh - annoyingly, I saw the chess set in a library but never actually investigated it...

3rd shot tie same stats as last time.
Basically I followed my previous route and found the chess set. I am mince so it meant nothing to me. I had to take a logic test and very (very) luckily passed it!
Then, eventually I sorted out the red queen.
And then, again, I thought that would be the end, but no, some more stuff with my alter ego.
My pals hit her three times and with the help of stat boosting pepper and some curious cake I sorted her out.
And won!
A very mediocre book in my opinion and I doubt I'll play it again to be fair.

I don't own this book, but having browsed the solution page for it I don't think your being a different foodstuff or none at all would have helped. The puzzle is simply ridiculous.

(looks at solution)
Having read a wee bit of Alice In Wonderland when I was a laddie and deciding I would rather stick with the Disney cartoon, I now realise that puzzle is even more daft than the one in 'Tower of destruction'!

I'm finally getting around to reading this, has anyone done the maths on whether using dice or cards gives you a statistical edge. I'll be using dice regardless but it would be interesting to see how closely balanced the two options are.

Had a great time doing this book, with friends. I read, they lead. We even have a nice map of the maze. I enjoyed this book.
