Having reflected on the difficulty on having to look up both books for reference to answer Question 10, I will make allowance for that particular question: if you don't physically possess one of the two books, but have read it before, you can still submit an answer for it without the section reference for the book you are missing (which means I will look it up myself).
The other 9 questions only require you to possess one book (although of course the answer range will be narrower) to answer them, so hopefully this can allow for 1-2 more submissions.
Deadline will be pushed back to 2nd September due to this change.

Well, that's 7 participants, I guess just about enough to not have to scrap this round. Deadline's tomorrow.

vastariner's entry brings the total up to 8 participants. Still a much smaller group than usual, probably resulting in far lower risk for each player to clash with their competitors, to the point that I started to wonder if I should have just limited it to just one book after all to raise the challenge level. Oh well, here goes the results...well, the first part of it, for now: 1. Identify a numbered section from either book where you get to destroy one of Reiner Heydrich's coffins.Revenge of the Vampire section 388 - trialmaster, Peter's wife (2) Revenge of the Vampire section 364 - kieran, Peter (2) Revenge of the Vampire section 163 - Wildy, evilwizard (2) Revenge of the Vampire section 400 - petch (1) Vault of the Vampire section 312 - vastariner (1) When I first started putting the quiz together, it was only supposed to be for Vault of the Vampire. This is one of the questions that got added after I decided to include Revenge of the Vampire as well. The reason should be obvious, since there would only be 3 valid answers available in the former while the latter adds quite a few other available choices. It is therefore probably not surprising that almost everyone went to Revenge for their answers. Unfortunately, this resulted in 3 pairs of clashes, while the one player who picked his answer from Vault actually scored a unique answer! petch's answer is an outside-the-box attempt that took me longer to decide on whether it's acceptable. The ending section of Revenge states that the PC "gather up the coffins you find in secret chambers hidden behind concealed doors inside the cave and build a funeral pyre for the Vampires", so he certainly destroyed a number of coffins, but the question specifies that the destroyed has to belong to Reiner Heydrich. The location in question, Ghoulcrytps, clearly also contained a lot of coffins that belong to other creatures, so there's no direct evidence that any of those are Reiner's. A point in petch's favour is that it's definitely possible for the PC to run across one of Reiner's coffins in a hidden chamber in one possible ending sequence, and if the PC finds it, then it would most certainly be one of those to go into the funeral pyre too. After considering the wording of the question ("where you get to destroy" instead of "where you destroy"), I eventually decided that there was just about enough ambiguity to make allowance for a possibility of destroying one of the count's coffin. With only 8 players, there would actually have been sufficient answers for everyone to get a unique one. As mentioned there were 3 valid answers in Vault, and only 1 was taken. There's also at least another answer available in Revenge, at the inn where the PC catches with the count and find Sewarth's Codex. While he's unable to destroy the count lying in it, the text mentions that he could at least destroy the coffin. ---- 2. Identify a way by which any one or more affliction acquired by the PC can be removed. (Duplication is judged based on the method of removal, not on the section referenced or the affliction removed. Different ways to remove the same affliction count as unique answers. The exact same way to remove an affliction from 2 different sections are considered duplicates.)Gunthar Heydrich's healing spell, cures any one affliction - petch, kieran (2) Buying Belladonna from Farleigh's market for consumption to cure Lycanthropy - Wildy, Peter's wife (2) Buying herbal cure for Lung Rot from Farleigh's market - trialmaster (1) Buying cure from a travelling healer (Revenge of the Vampire section 3) - vastariner (1) Invalid answers: Change from Lycanthropy to Major Lycanthropy affliction after exposure to moonlight - Peter (4) Transform into lupine form from Major Lycanthropy affliction - evilwizard (4) Another question that was added after the inclusion of Revenge of the Vampire, due to there being too few of them in Vault, while Revenge added a considerable range of variety, so once again, there are more clashes than I expected. Once again, we have players attempting to look outside the box for answers, in this case taking advantage of the fact that I used the word "removed" instead of "cured", which means the question does not state that PC has find a cure. Unfortunately, I cannot accept evilwizard's answer. Nothing in the text indicates that affliction is "removed" in anyway after the final transformation. The PC being stuck in in werewolf form is actually an indication that he's now stuck with the affliction permanently, so I have to disqualify this answer. With Peter's answer I had to look at the text of the quoted section even more closely, to see if the wording actually says something like "remove/lose the Lycanthropy Affliction and add Major Lycanthropy affliction to your adventure sheet". If it does, I would have been more inclined to let it pass - but the exact wording merely says "change" the Lycanthropy Affliction to Major Lycanthropy. In the literal sense, nothing is removed, an extra word is added, and story-wise, the affliction was mutated/aggravated to an advanced stage instead of actually altered to something different, so it doesn't quite fall under "remove" in my eyes, so ultimately I had to disqualify it as well. However, the penalty for wrong answers for this round isn't as harsh as most other rounds I've hosted, so neither player is necessarily out of the running yet. Kudos to vastariner for finding a valid answer that I completely missed out myself. An a unique one at that! This actually puts him in the lead at the end of this round. Once again, there were actually sufficient valid answers for everyone to get a unique one here. Unmentioned ones include Karl-Heinz's concoction, which cures Lycanthropy (Vault), Doktor Verruckte's concoction which cures all afflictions (Revenge), Sandar the monk curing you of Bloodbane (Revenge), buying herbal cure for Bloodbane in the Farleigh market (Revenge), Malkan the healer whom you may rescue in Mortus Mansion and cure you of any one affliction (Revenge) and picking up the magic sword Imperator, which can cure any affliction outside Latent Vampirism and Lycanthropy (Revnge). Score: vastariner (2) petch (3) trialmaster (3) Peter's wife (4) kieran (4) Wildy (4) Peter (6) evilwizard (6)

3. Name or otherwise identify an opponent that can only be defeated if you possess a magical sword. Demon Hound (Revenge) - petch, Wildy (2) Reiner Heydrich - Peter's wife, vastariner (2) Vampire Mist (Vault) - evilwizard (1) Shevala (Revenge) - trialmaster (1) Shadow (Vault) - kieran (1) Wraith (Vault) - Peter (1)
Peter's wife actually submitted her answer as "unidentified figure in the coach" from Revenge of the Vampire. As the PC can track the coach down in the book and eventually confirm that it was in fact the count himself who was in it (the only other creature or person with him was Igor, who definitely can be harmed by non-magical weapons), this ends up doubling with vastariner, also ending the latter's perfect streak and leaving no one with perfect score.
Other possible answers include Katarina Heydrich (Vault - she also appears in Revenge, but there's no weapon check there), Headless Horseman (Vauilt), Carollar (Revenge), Vampire-Ghost (Revenge). Interestingly, there's also a Wraith in Revenge, but unlike the one in Vault, there's also no weapon check required to fight it. In Katarina's case, at least the lack of check makes sense - you've already fought Reiner by the time you meet her, so there's no question of you reaching that encounter without a magic weapon.
----
4. Name or otherwise identify a character whom the PC can rescue from an attack or captivity.
Roban the Merchant (Revenge) - petch, evilwizard, Peter's wife (3) Vantiane from Gallantaria (Revenge) - Wildy, trialmaster (2) Sandar the monk (Revenge) - kieran (1) Nastassia (Vault) - Peter (1) Harquar (Revenge) - vastariner (1)
Yet another question that has most of its available answers in Revenge of the Vampire - in fact Vault only has 1. So naturally, most players picked their answers there. But once again, the one person who picked his from Vault got a unique answer, while more than half the players who went for the other book clashed.
The range of answers is admittedly more limited for this one, but there were still at least a couple of missed answers. First, there is Malkan the healer whom I mentioned in my previous post. Then there's the son of an innkeeper from Stunkaster (who was actually submitted as answer for another question by one of the players) whom you can rescue from a Vampyre. So there were still almost enough unique answers to go around for this small group of entrants even if I hadn't missed out any other!

5. Identify an item that you can acquire with ‘silver’ as part of its name. In this case different items with the same name qualify as different answers. So if you can find a silver chalice in both books, for example, and 2 players each pick one of them, they do not clash. But DO remember to specify the book and relevant section.
Silver flask containing antidote to ghouls' paralysis attack (Revenge) - Wildy, Peter's wife (2) Silver elven amulet on a chain of prayer beads (Vault) - evilwizard, vastariner (2) Silver tube containing Sewarth's notes (Revenge) - petch (1) Silver Mirror (Revenge) - trialmaster (1) Silver Crucifix (Vault) - kieran (1)
Invalid: Silver bell (Vault, section 179) - Peter (5)
Again, a couple of answers attempted to push the boundary what is acceptable. The silver tube submitted by petch is not actually stated to be added to the PC's possessions, but at least the text does explicitly state that the PC took it down from the alcove to read its contents, so that just about satisfy the condition "acquire" in my question, if only briefly. The silver bell referenced by Peter, however, is one of the many bells in the bell tower of the castle, which, while not explicitly described as such, these bells tend to be attached to the building itself and not something that can be conveniently taken. The text only states that the PC examines and then rings it, and said nothing about him picking it up to do so, so I'm afraid it doesn't quite satisfy the condition of being acquired by the PC at any point. Unfortunately, this also means Peter has accumulated a second wrong answer this round, and thus a steeper penalty.
I had explicitly clarified that items from different books but with the same name are acceptable as different answers as long as the player specifies the book, so that opens up a fair number of possible answers. Silver Mirrors and Silver(ed) Stakes can be found in both books, and there's more than one Silver crucifixes to be found in Vault. There's also the silver key which opens the library in vault. The Blackfire in Revenge is also contained in a silver flask, like the antidote to the ghoul paralysis. There may well be other items I don't quite remember off the top of my head.
6. Name or otherwise identify a deceased character whose tomb can be visited by the PC.
Jandor (Vault) - Wildy, Peter's wife (2) Fourth Knight of the Thorn (Revenge) - petch (1) Chancellor Conrad Schmidt (Vault) - evilwizard (1) Reiner Heydrich (Revenge 152) - trialmaster (1) Boris the Drunkard (Vault) - kieran (1) Third Knight of the Thorn (Revenge) - Peter (1) Adolf (Vault) - vastariner (1)
First question where there are more answers submitted for Vault than for Revenge. I guess in this case, the ones given in Vault are more distinct as individuals. Revenge has 5 Knights of the Thorns to choose from, but more or less the only way to differentiate between them are the items you can loot from them (and 2 of them has none). Still, even with only 1 clash, there are more than enough answers remaining to spare: Siegfried Heydrich (Vault), Doktor Faustus (Vault) and of course the remaining 3 Knights of the Thorn.
I had to do some consideration on whether Reiner Heydrich should be considered "deceased" when his physical body is still up and running about. Still, the standard definition of the word is "no longer living", and several of the other characters are also present as ghosts, which are often placed under the undead category, so it doesn't seem fair to disqualify Reiner for being undead instead of dead. And he definitely died at least once prior to that point (in Vault), so ultimately I gave trialmaster the point.
We now have a 3-way tie at the top! The contest has been surprisingly tight thus far! vastariner had been in the lead until this round, but 2 other players have now tied that lead!
Score:
vastariner (8) trialmaster (8) kieran (8) petch (10) Wildy (12) Peter's wife (13) evilwizard (13) Peter (14)

7. Identify a combat opponent that has "Ghoul" or "Zombie" as part or all of its given name in the combat table. Opponent must be presented in standard combat table format with SKILL and STAMINA clearly displayed. Duplication is judged strictly based on name given in the combat table regardless of whether or not its the exact same opponent. "First Zombie" from 2 different books, or different parts of the same book, will all count as duplicated answers. Same goes for plain generic "Ghoul" or "Zombie" in any different books or combats. "First Zombie" and "Sixth Zombie" from the same combat qualify as different answers.
Proto Zombie (Revenge 248) - trialmaster, Peter (2) Third Zombie (Vault 81) - petch (1) Ghoul Monk (Revenge 13) - Wildy (1) Stench Ghoul (Vault 122) - evilwizard (1) Ghoul Pack (Revenge 144) - kieran (1) Megaghoul (Revenge 270) - Peter's wife (1) First Zombie Pair (Revenge 129) - vastariner (1)
When I first set this question, my original intent was to limit it to only non-generic ghouls and zombies. Not knowing how many players there would be at the time, I changed the conditions to allow for a wider answer range. I'm happy to see that most players still went for the non-generic options, although 2 of them were unfortunate enough to clash. This also knocks trialmaster off the lead position that he just gained.
Leaving aside the unpicked generic options, there were still a few non-generic variations not taken: Steel Ghoul and Zombie Coach, both from Revenge. There were also "Huge Ghoul"s from both books, although those seem to be more or less generic ghouls too.
----
8. Name or otherwise identify a creature that is explicitly stated in the text to be attempting to bite or have bitten the PC. Duplication here is judged based on the creature identified, not by section number (so if two different sections are provided for the same creature biting the PC from different players, it counts as a duplicate. Different creatures of the same type biting the PC, however, can be acceptable as unique).
Second Wolf (Vault 121 - actually a werewolf) - petch (1) Demon Hound (Revenge 322) - Wildy (1) Vampire Weasel (Vault 45) - evilwizard (1) Werewolf (Revenge 183) - trialmaster (1) Vampyre (Revenge 328) - kieran (1) First Vampyre (Revenge 139) - Peter (1) First Wolf (Vault 170) - Peter's wife (1) Great Rat (Vault 136) - vastariner (1)
First question with no clashes in answer! Didn't really expect any here, since this probably has the widest range of answers. Even so, there seem to be some close calls, with petch and Peter's wife picking different opponents from the same encounter. Like the previous question, this was partly a result of me changing the conditions from what I originally intended. I was originally considering limiting it to creature types who are NOT Vampire/Vampyres. Allowing different creatures of the same type to qualify also enabled several players to score a unique answers, with players picking werewolves and vampyres from different encounters.
Interestingly, pretty much everyone picked combat opponents, even though it's actually not a condition for this question. Only Vampire Weasel is a mere distraction during a combat and not a direct opponent. No non-combat encounters at all, such as the pack of rats who may swarm you in Vault.
No changes to the scoreboard for this question, so vastariner and kieran retain their leads while trialmaster dropped a rank from the previous question.
Score:
vastariner (10) kieran (10) trialmaster (11) petch (12) Wildy (14) Peter's wife (15) evilwizard (15) Peter (17)

9. Name or otherwise identify TWO characters from the same book who are related to each other by blood. Provide reference of the relevant section that verifies the relationship. BONUS CONDITION: Your answers will be counted as unique as long as no one else name the exact same two characters as you do, but any player who submits 2 characters that are not used by anyone else at all gets a -1 bonus to his or her total score.
Malkan the healer and his brother Simeon - Wildy, trialmaster (2) Gunthar and Wilhelm Heydrich - evilwizard (1) Siegfried and Reiner Heydrich - kieran (1) Katarina and Wilhelm Heydrich - Peter (1) Reiner and Gunthar Heydrich - vastariner (1) Landlord and landlord's son of tavern in Gummport - petch (0) Landlord and landlord's son of tavern in Stunkaster - Peter's wife (0)
I have set bonus condition questions in this format quite a few times (naming a pair of characters or creatures, and earning the bonus if both are unique). The point of intrigue is obviously to see how many players would be looking to earn the bonus by searching for the more obscure pairings. I think the result of this question turns out to yield a pretty classic example of what can happen for such questions!
With 5 members featured in the Heydrich family, they are the obvious sources for answers, allowing for lots of possible combinations which would certainly reduce each player's chances of clashing fully with another. On the other hand, it also decreases the chance of them being able to gain the bonus by naming 2 unique characters. On the other hand, going for a more obscure pairing, increases the chance to earn the bonus, but also the risk for a full clash, due to the lack of variety in the combinations. As it turns out, exactly half the players went for a Heydrich combination, and none of them had a full clash, but none of them were able to earn the bonus. I'm also amused to see that every available Heydrich member was included in at least one combination! Meanwhile, the other half of the players looked for more obscure but also more limited pairings, half of that group clashed with each other, while the remaining half earned their bonus points!
Other available answers outside the Heydrich family group include Nastassia and her grandmother, as well as Shevala and her (petrified) sister (who was actually named in the book, although I can't recall it at the moment)
Interesting developments in how each player's strategy turned out, but ultimately, this did not change the top of the scoreboard, as both leaders went for a "safer" answer within the Heydrich group and maintained their leads. What this round does, however, is to allow petch to close in on both of them thanks to the bonus point he gained.
Score:
vastariner (11) kieran (11) petch (12) trialmaster (13) Peter's wife (15) Wildy (16) evilwizard (16) Peter (18)

One of the things I had settled on though was picking RotV 400 for this question while wondering whether it was the right sort of clever or the sort of clever that results in a five player pile-up. Turns out it's right for petch but would have been wrong for me.
Anyway on the dubious basis of this I'm supporting petch in this round.

10. Identify one combat opponent from EACH book (Vault of the Vampire and Revenge of the Vampire) that is listed with the same name in the combat table. Like Question 7, duplication here is judged strictly based on the names given in the combat table. Do provide the relevant section number of the combats from both books. Also, the two combat opponents must have the exact same listed "name", by the letter, regardless of whether or not they're the same character. Failure to provide the exact similarity will result in the answer being considered invalid.
Wraith, (Vault 200, Revenge 312) - Wildy (1) Horned Vampire Bat (Vault 45, Revenge 2) - evilwizard (1) First Wolf (Vault 103 Revenge 396) - petch, vastariner (2) Demon Steed (Vault 5, Revenge 233) - trialmaster, Peter's wife (2)
Invalid: Giant Raven - (Vault 78, Revenge 89) - kieran (4), Peter (6)
The last question in the set has a narrow range of answers, and it was by design, intended to create a higher chance of resolving potential ties leading up to this point. This almost didn't work, since both vastariner and kieran (and even petch) clashed with exactly one person. However, the difference was resolved due to the validity of one of their answers: it's been stated that the answer will be judged similarly to Question 7, based on the exact name listed in the combat table. In Question 7, it was also deliberately pointed out that the presence of words like "First" and "Sixth" do make a difference, and it does also apply here. Giant Ravens can be encountered in both books, but they come as a pair in Revenge, and were thus differentiated as "First" and "Second" Giant Ravens, while the one in Vault is a lone one and listed plainly as just "Giant Raven, and that distinction is enough to make the final difference between the prior co-leaders of the scoreboard. Unfortunately for Peter, this also gives him a third wrong answer this round!
Despite the narrow range of valid answers, there were actually still a few missed out! Katarina Heydrich, First Zombie, Second Zombie, Huge Ghoul and Second Wolf would all have been valid options! Still more than enough for this small pool of players to have each grabbed a unique one!
Reiner Heydrich, incidentally, would also have been disqualified, because he's listed as "Count Reiner Heydrich" in Vault, but is listed without his noble rank in Revenge in all of the combat tables where he's present.
Congratulations to vastariner for emerging as the final winner in this tightly-contested round!
Final Score:
vastariner (13) petch (14) kieran (15) trialmaster (15) Peter's wife (17) Wildy (17) evilwizard (17) Peter (24)

Congratulations to vastariner and thanks Gabe Fandango for this round! Seems I continue my curse as bogeyman and keep piling on with almost everyone each round… It was fun to rediscover Revenge, I tried to pick 99% of my answers from it, as previous unique answers were from the rare books, I failed miserably and looking forward to the next one!

There was one other answer that I almost submitted, but ultimately thought it was pushing the boundaries of the question too far. Curious to know what that answer might be? When you "rescue" the Baobhan Sith in Vault from the chains of cobwebs keeping her captive by binding her to a chair - either by kissing her, or by searching the room This was a fun round

When you "rescue" the Baobhan Sith in Vault from the chains of cobwebs keeping her captive by binding her to a chair - either by kissing her, or by searching the room Oh, yeah, you would be right that I probably wouldn't have passed that. Neither the act of kissing her nor searching the room was what "frees" her from the cobwebs (the fact that she gets up while you search the room without touching her proves that she can do so any time she wants), so there's no question of you rescuing her.

And then there are these respectable gentlemen: “No, you roll-a de dice an’ you add-a de Skill... Ah, why I’m-a even tryin’ ta explain...”With autumn leaves beginning to fall here and there across Allansia, there could be no better time to accept the offer of a thrilling adventure tour to southern waters, an enjoyable leisure cruise promising archaeological sights and friendly locals, sailing the... what's this on the pamphlet, Seas of Blood, by Andrew Chapman? The captain is already plotting an exciting course for us to exotic ports across the sea.1. Identify two of the eight coastal settlements on the map; the two must be separated by at least two other settlements, following the coastline. Stop ganging up on us! Well, there’s a bunch of us as well, but still, stop.2. Identify an enemy that you fight with listed Strike and Strength whose combat entry contains a plural or collective noun. I expected people to get into character for the trip, but some of these guys we’re picking up really don’t look very happy to join us!3. Identify a section in which you may gain one or more slaves to your tally. Note: crewmen are not slaves. Didn’t I recognize that one from the wanted posters?4. Identify a person or creature who communicates with direct speech and is not a crew member of the Banshee. We can’t leave yet, Bob hasn’t returned to the ship! (distant scream) We still can’t leave, Sue isn’t back either! (another distant scream) We can leave now.5. Identify two unconditionally game-ending sections appearing on the same page spread. Finally, there’s only one of them now, let me handle this. Oof!6. Identify an enemy with listed Skill and/or Stamina that you personally fight in a battle with a single statted opponent. It’s nice to come ashore, take it easy, check out the local places of interest. We’re already leaving, you say? Captain’s been horribly maimed, you say? So just like the last place, and the place before that...7. Identify a section accompanied by a full-page illustration showing no water, nor any part of a ship, nor any person known to have sailed on a ship as of late. We got a postcard from our buddies who went to a completely different part of the world, let’s read about their adventures for a change.8. Identify a section in a Puffin FF 1-59 gamebook other than Seas of Blood with an enemy that you fight, with listed Skill and Stamina or book-specific equivalents, that is described, in the combat entry and/or elsewhere in the same section, using the word “pirate”, ”buccaneer”, ”corsair”, ”cutthroat” or “rascal” (plurals, derived adjectives and such are allowed). Go for the eyes, Bob! And again! Get up, Bob.9. Identify a body part belonging to the Cyclops to which you may attempt, as offered in an option, to apply a violent move. A targeted body part may technically be part of another and still count as a different answer, e.g. ”spleen” and ”torso” assuming those would otherwise qualify. Well, that maybe wasn’t entirely what I signed up for, but at least we have this souvenir to show the people back home. Whatever it might be good for.10. Identify an object that you may obtain and keep. Things that are meant to apply for this: items that you are asked if you have found, directly or indirectly; items that impart an immediate or ongoing mechanical effect, even if not referenced again; items that would at least in theory have some special significance or value. Things that are not meant to apply for this: objects or accessories that are briefly handled but not meaningfully retrieved or retained; salvaged objects which are automatically consumed, sold or gifted in the same section; mundane items or accessories, e.g. containers, mentioned incidentally when obtaining something else; objects that you obtain or manipulate right before your unconditional demise; supplies, gold or slaves.
* Except as stated in Q8, the scope of the round is only FF16: Seas of Blood, as originally published by Puffin. I don't expect there are any differences of note in the American edition, but I have no idea whether Q5 might be affected. * Answers to be PM'd to me by midnight BST or thereabouts on the 22nd of September, giving almost two weeks. * Some rules will be applied! Good luck!

evilwizard, Gabe Fandango, petch and Wildy have all been dragged away by a skeletal octopus! Who dares venture away from the ship to look for them? Also, a comment on a ruling from the past: I wanted to use the Cave Troll's cave for Q7, as I feel that a cave, by definition, is below ground. Stumbling across this again, I'm thinking I should have allowed the cave answer. I was focused on there being lateral movement on part of the character (from the flavour aspect of the question), so I thought of going into the cave as being analogous to stepping in and out of a house, and missing the logic that the ground level has reasonably shifted to somewhere above you, even though I used it as part of my explanation for why the Fish Man cave would have been allowed. So semi-apologies for this, although in the alternate universe where I make the other call, you just end up losing the tie-breaker to your wife anyway (and hallucination goes from shared fifth to shared fourth, and another player gets a few more points for having their answer disqualified, since I don't end up asking for a replacement).
