Murg: "North"

North it is. The door is unlocked, opening into another room. This room looks like a prison of some kind. The walls are bare and grubby. The floor is dusty and littered with bits of wood and stones. A few broken bones are scattered about. There is a foul stench hanging heavy in the air. Doors lead to the north and west. Along the east wall are five skeletons, chained to the wall. Presumably this is all that is left of five adventurers who came through this way some time ago! Three wooden chests rest on the ground beneath the dangling feet of the middle three skeletons.

Talbion inspects the skeletons more closely to see if they have anything of interest on them. If searching, include a roll for skill. This time, however, it is not needed. An examination of each skeleton reveals no meaningful clues or hidden items.

"I do not want nothing about those chests." Kradon walks to the skeletons and touches, gently, but firmly, for a long time, each one of the skulls of each skeleton. "Yes..." (he whispers)

Redric picks up the chest closest to the door and gently shakes it to determine if there's anything inside.

I'd like to inspect the area around the chests and then the chests themselves, (touching them as little as possible). This is to see if they're obviously booby-trapped or giving off any particular smell. Roll if necessary (4) I won't try opening any yet.

Without touching, look over the rightmost chest for danger signs (12). If no threat is obvious (and let's face it, with that roll I'd probably fail to spot a Cobra rearing up on top of the chest), move to the right of the chest, about 30cm away, then lean over and try to flip it open using the tip of my sword (8).

The chains holding the skeletons begin to rustle as the adventurers move toward the chests...but it turns out this was from the wind blowing in through the entrance door.
Jack checks around the chests and cannot find anything that indicates that the chests are trapped. The chests do not give much away; there is a foul stench hanging heavy in the air which makes it almost impossible to sense whether any smells are coming from the chests themselves.
Redric picks up the chest next to the door (I take it you mean the one on the left near the door in the image?) and gives it a little shake. The chest itself is heavy, but you can hear the jingling of coins and a small *squeak* coming from within.
Throma inspects the rightmost chest for any signs of danger, and finding none, positions herself to the side of the chest, opening it in a rather ingenious way with a flick of her sword. The chest opens, revealing... a wand! It appears to be magical.

"That would be foolish! This wand could be a powerful artefact. As for this box, I think it contains money - and something else which I cannot identify."
(I did indeed mean the box closest to the door in the image.)

"I'm all wide-eyed. If you want hammock-time, that's all well but without a watch I reckon you'll end as the sixth Jolly Roger twisting in the wind.
"Now, let us see... this wouldn't be the first booty-chest to blow sky-high..."
OK I think I'll try opening the remaining chest, using my cutlass and employing Throma's method. (7)

*Takes the wand, being careful not to point it directly at any of the party.* As Jack prepares to open the centre chest with the same cautious approach, Throma picks up the wand. She hears a hissing sound and watches as the 'wand' reveals its true nature; it is a Chameleon Serpent, a creature with the ability to mimic similar objects. It immediately sinks its fangs into Throma's wrist; Throma loses 2 stamina points! She quickly flicks in onto the floor, where the rest of the party can finish it off. SERPENT Skill 6 Stamina 7 Attacks 1 == Round One == Serpent attacks Jack. Attack Strength 11...

I hesitate between attacking Kradon or the snake, before aiming a punch at Kradon's abdomen.
(Not sure if this is considered combat or a Skill test but I rolled a 12 and my Skill is 9)

(Not sure if this is considered combat or a Skill test but I rolled a 12 and my Skill is 9) It is treated as an attack with -4 penalty to attack strength for being unarmed. Kradon, you need to roll attack strength. I would consider using luck to reduce damage, your stamina is low enough as it is!

== Round One ==
After the snakebite, the serpent is shown little mercy. It lunges wildly at Jack, but he is able to deflect the attack.
Talbion, Reddit, Murg and Throma quickly surround the poor reptile and stab, chop and slash it in several places. The final blow from Throma is so fierce, the chameleon serpent's head is separated from its body, and it smacks wetly against the wall, slowly sliding down and leaving a trail of blood that is as dark as wine.
Serpent is defeated.

Kradon gets punched in his stomach and stands before the gates of death. Blood coming out from his mouth. (however a positive luck test (rolled 3) decreases the damage) The oldman stares perplexed at the attacker...
