==Round One==
Redric, Jack, Civil & Murg try to subdue their crazed companion. Talbion thrusts his spear towards Jack, but his actions are predictable and the group are able to beat him down. Talbion loses 4 stamina. *Let me know when Talbion is below 1/2 his initial stamina*
On the isolated rock, Throma gives the mermaid a fresh cut along her side, inflicting 2 stamina damage on the mermaid. The mermaid cries out in pain, begging for her hero to rescue her.
==Round Two==
Mermaid Skill 4 Stamina 5 Mermaid attacks Throma. Attack Strength 9...

Well I suppose I'll keep trying to bludgeon Talbion too. We don't want this to turn into a two-on-one thing against Throma.

Having been mesmerised by the mermaid, I finally snap out of my trance and take my frustrations out on Talbion by hitting him with the hilt of my dagger.

==Round Two==
Throma is seriously beating down on this poor mermaid. The mermaid takes another hit to the head and loses 2 stamina.
Talbion is outraged and dives back into the river, determined to save his love. He reaches the rock, but took a couple of half-hearted blows during his escape (lose 1 stamina unless you successfully Test your Luck, in which case i'll let you lose 0 stamina). Note it will take a round for the other adventurers to reach the rock. The combat between Throma and the mermaid now involves Talbion too. The mermaid looks at Talbion with wide blue eyes and hisses at him in a cold voice, pointing to Throma with her weapon, a sharp piece of coral. 'Kill her.'
==Round Three==
Mermaid Skill 4 Stamina 3 Mermaid attacks Throma. Attack Strength 14.

Jack considers that there probably isn't enough space for everyone to fight on that rock and decides to take his own advice about not diving in after mermaids.
(To anyone who's listening) "Maybe this isn't the time to say so, but mermaid tail has much the flavour of swordfish. It's worth consideration."

Again Throma strikes deep, cutting into mermaid flesh. Talbion howls in anger and makes an aggressive spear thrust but misses Throma's head by an inch. Civilservicus emerges from the river and is now ready to join the combat.

==Round Four==
The mermaid raises the sharp piece of coral above her head, preparing for a final downward thrust into Throma's neck. However, as she is about to strike, Civilservicus clubs her over the back of the head. Dazed, the mermaid watches as Throma's blade slides in under her ribcage, piercing her heart.
With her last breath, she turns to Talbion and falls into his arms. Talbion drops his weapon in shock, his rage and anger replaced by the cold, empty sense of loss. The party watches him attempt to revive the mermaid, but she is gone. For the next few moments, the cavern is silent, save for the sound of the flowing river.
Holding her limp body in his arms, Talbion moves to the edge of the rock. He bends down on one knee, strokes the mermaid's hair one last time, and gently lowers her into the water. The body slowly bobs downstream and is eventually swallowed up by the river. It takes a while for him to get up, but when he does it appears that he has regained his senses.
He retrieves his spear and rejoins the group.

"You near ended up like our friend in the painted tree room as well. Next time we won't turn our weapons. And don't close your ears to me if we meet any more creatures of the deep! Let us press on."
*Moves to cross the river, sticking to the shallowest water*

The party attempts to cross the river at its shallow point. As they get to the north end of the crossing, the water on either side of them begins to bubble. Suddenly eight rather large tentacles erupt from the river and surround the party! It is a Giant Octopus and the party must defeat it if they want to cross!
Giant Octopus Skill 6 Stamina 8 Attacks 8 *Note that it has 8 attacks per round. That means it can fight all adventurers each round!*

My dagger sinks into the tentacle, somehow feeling both revolting and satisfying.
